You know what caught me off guard about Basel Hotel? I was expecting another cookie-cutter place in Konyaaltı, but this little boutique spot actually has some serious character. It’s tucked away on 657 Sokak – and honestly, that’s part of its charm because you’re off the main tourist drag but still close enough to walk to the beach in about ten minutes. The whole Arapsuyu neighborhood has this quieter, more residential feel that I really appreciated after dealing with the chaos around Kaleiçi earlier in the day.

The hotel itself doesn’t bother with official star ratings, which initially made me nervous (you never know what you’re getting into, right?), but it turns out they’re just doing their own thing really well. The owner clearly put thought into every corner – there’s this mix of modern Turkish design with some unexpected touches that feel authentic rather than trying too hard. I mean, the lobby has these gorgeous local ceramics that aren’t just random decorations, and the staff actually knew the stories behind them when I asked. Check-in was refreshingly smooth too, none of that bureaucratic nonsense you sometimes get at bigger chains. They even gave me solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t tourist traps – always a good sign.

What really won me over was how they handle the details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms have proper blackout curtains (crucial if you’re trying to sleep off jet lag), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. Parking was straightforward, which is honestly a minor miracle in Antalya. The breakfast spread was better than expected – local cheeses and honey, fresh bread, and they make a proper Turkish coffee if you ask. I stayed during shoulder season in October, so it was peaceful, but I imagine summer gets busier since they’re small and word seems to be getting out. The 8.5 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but for what it is, they execute it really well. If you want something with personality that doesn’t feel like every other hotel you’ve stayed in, and you prefer being around actual neighborhoods rather than hotel zones, Basel Hotel hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  Great location! Very close to local restaurants and the beach! Only a 10 minute drive to the old town! The staff were lovely and we had a great breakfast provided everyday. Would definitely recommend 🩷

  The Hotel Basel was one of the best I ever stayed. The staff was realy simpatic and professional, offered us water and tea when we arive. All the hotel is clean and well organised. The room we stayed was nice and big with a lot of storage space with airconditioning. Bathroom clean and modern. Breackfast with coffe, tea, water nad large variety of fresh food, lots of vegtables, salads, eggs and good quality breads. Several days before our arrival the staff asked me if i want transfer from the airport, was a good deal and the driver was kind and professional, offered us water and carried the bags! Was a Good experience. In the sorounding area there ar a lot of min markets, shops and several restaurantes, and is very close to the beach, 5/10 minuts walk. Best Regards

  Wonderful property manager. Super nice and helpful!! Room has everything I needed even slippers and cold water in my mini fridge. The AC was a lifesaver in Antalya’s hot weather. Overall totally recommend.
  
  What could be improved: No elevator so beware if you have lots of luggage. Also the middle part of the blinds are not blackout; it’s just a white see through curtain which was a small problem cause of the light in the mornings.

  Staff were friendly. Price paid was not cheap but not the dearest.
  
  What could be improved: I moved rooms myself due to builders across the road. Loud singing from mosque 5:30 then four more times during day. No near cafe or food places was downside.

  The staff was really friendly, helpful and always available. They also arranged a taxi to the airport for us. The location is great, it's close to the beach as well as some good restaurants; it's easy to get to the city center by bus.
  The rooms were comfortable. I enjoyed it and would stay there again in future.
  
  What could be improved: Only minor things; Sometimes I had to wait a few minutes in a shower for hot water & the room doors could have been more soundproofed. The coffee from the machine during the breakfast was awful. Other than that, everything was great.
