You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from City House Hotel when I first walked up to it on 444. Sokak – I mean, it’s tucked away in this residential area that feels more like where locals actually live than where tourists usually end up. But honestly, that turned out to be one of its biggest charms. The street’s pretty quiet, especially compared to the madness you get closer to Kaleiçi, and you can actually sleep without hearing scooters revving all night.

The hotel itself is… well, it’s solid three-star territory. Nothing fancy, but they’ve clearly put some thought into the details that actually matter. The lobby has this lived-in feel – not Instagram-perfect, but comfortable in that way that makes you think the staff actually cares about the place. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no upselling or confusing explanations), and the guy at reception knew his stuff about getting around Antalya without making you feel like a clueless tourist. The rooms are what you’d expect – clean, decent-sized, with that slightly dated but well-maintained vibe that screams “we spend money on upkeep, not trendy renovations.” Air conditioning works properly, which is honestly half the battle in Turkish summers.

Here’s the thing about the location that really grew on me – you’re maybe a fifteen-minute walk from the old town, but you’re also right in the middle of actual Antalya life. There’s this little bakery two blocks down that opens ridiculously early and makes these cheese börek things that became my daily breakfast ritual. The neighborhood has character, you know? Real restaurants where families eat, not just tourist traps with laminated menus in five languages. And if you’re planning to explore beyond the city center, the main roads are close enough that getting a dolmuş or taxi doesn’t require a expedition. Parking’s actually doable around here too, which anyone who’s driven in Turkish cities will appreciate. The 7.1 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s something to be said for a place that just does the basics well without trying to be something it’s not. I’ve stayed in fancier hotels that left me more frustrated than this one did.

  Situated near Hadrian's gate, metro line, Kaleici's old town. Everything was within walking distance

  bed was nice and firm, comfy, with private bathroom, hot water. wifi! aircon. hot water kettle. on site reception. ease of extending my stay an extra day, on the day and in the same room. Teşekkürler.

  Location: city centre, near street market and old town, 2 minutes walk from tram stop.

  It was very central, and the room felt very private and nice. The AC was working very efficiently. The receptionists were all incredibly helpful and friendly. They even helped me with my overstay. It was worth the money. I would definitely consider it again.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing particular. It was an old building just like the surrounding buildings in the neighborhood. But it didn’t create a problem.
