The apartment itself is on the second floor (which they call “Kat 2” here), and while the building looks pretty typical from the street – sort of that Mediterranean white-and-terracotta style you see everywhere – inside it’s actually quite charming. The sea view is the real star though. I’d sit there with my morning coffee watching the fishing boats head out early, and you can hear the gentle lapping of waves mixed with the occasional call to prayer from the nearby mosque. It’s quintessentially Turkish, you know? The beach access is literally a two-minute walk down 1506 Sokak, and I found myself going back and forth multiple times a day because, well, why wouldn’t you? The water’s incredibly clear, especially if you wade out a bit past where the local kids are playing.

What I really appreciated was how the owner had thought about the practical stuff – there’s actually decent water pressure in the shower (not always a given in older Turkish buildings), and the Wi-Fi worked well enough for video calls back home. The kitchen’s small but functional, which came in handy since the local market on Cumhuriyet Caddesi is just a short walk away, and honestly, the tomatoes and olives there are incredible. I should mention though, if you’re a super light sleeper, the street can get a bit lively on weekend evenings – nothing crazy, just the sounds of people enjoying themselves at the nearby cafes. But that’s part of the charm, isn’t it? You’re in a real neighborhood, not some sterile tourist zone. The check-in was smooth too – met the caretaker right at the building entrance, and she even gave me some local restaurant recommendations that turned out to be absolute gems. For the price point and that view, I’d definitely come back, especially during shoulder season when the crowds thin out but the weather’s still perfect for swimming.
