Cozy Home in Oldtown Kaleici Overview

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked this place on Seferoğlu Sokak – the photos looked almost too good to be true for the price. But walking through those ancient Kaleiçi streets to find it, you know what struck me first? The silence. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Antalya’s old town, but once you duck into this narrow cobblestone street, it’s like the city noise just… disappears.

The owner, Mehmet, met me at the door (which is actually pretty typical for these family-run places in Kaleiçi), and the first thing he did was apologize for the “small entrance” – honestly, I thought it was charming. These Ottoman-era buildings weren’t designed for rolling suitcases, but that’s part of the whole experience, right? Inside though, wow. They’ve done this restoration thing where they kept all the original stone walls and wooden beams, but everything else feels completely modern. The air conditioning actually works (not always a given in these historic places), and I’m pretty sure those bathroom fixtures cost more than my rent back home.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to make it feel like a genuine home rather than a hotel room trying to look homey. There’s this little kitchenette that’s actually functional – I made Turkish coffee there every morning using beans from the shop around the corner on Hesapçı Sokak. And the bed… look, I’m picky about mattresses, but I slept better there than I have in months. The whole place stays surprisingly cool even during those brutal August afternoons when the rest of Antalya feels like an oven. I think it’s something about those thick stone walls and the way the building’s positioned – you get this cross-breeze that the locals probably figured out centuries ago.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in old Antalya rather than just visiting it. You’re a two-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate, but more importantly, you’re right there with the neighborhood cats, the elderly Turkish men playing backgammon at the corner café, and that amazing smell of fresh simit drifting over from the bakery every morning around seven. I actually found myself taking the long way back each evening just to walk through different parts of Kaleiçi – you’ll end up discovering these tiny restaurants and artisan shops that most tourists never see because they stick to the main drags.

The only minor thing – and this might actually be a plus depending on your perspective – is that the WiFi gets a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone in the neighborhood is streaming Turkish dramas. But honestly? I ended up spending most of my time either exploring or sitting on that little balcony watching the sunset paint the old city walls orange. Sometimes the best travel experiences happen when you’re forced to disconnect a bit anyway.

Reviews of Cozy Home in Oldtown Kaleici

  • Abu from United States – 27 May 2025 (10/10)

This place is in a quiet area, good distance from all the noise. The owner was very friendly and prompt with his responses. We had issues with our internet in the area after a short blackout and the owner came right away to fix the issue. They were also very helpful and gave us a list of places to visit and recommendations for food. This felt like another home in Türkiye. I would definitely come here again if the property is available once more.

  • Paul from United Kingdom – 19 May 2025 (10/10)

Every aspect of our stay was beyond our expectations.

What could be improved: Absolutely nothing to dislike.

  • Vladimir from Serbia – 31 March 2025 (10/10)

We stayed in this beautiful house in the center of the old town. The location is perfect — just a few minutes from the bustling streets and restaurants. The amenities are modern and convenient, yet the house retains a charming touch of authenticity and culture. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Antalya.

  • Ksenia from Russia – 9 March 2025 (10/10)

I definitely recommend it, the house is exactly as the photo: new, fully equipped, has an excellent location and owner is helpful.

  • Saena from South Korea – 23 February 2025 (10/10)

Location is at the heart of old town.

It was pretty chilly for several days when we stayed there. And since heating system is installed in every room, we felt warm and cozy.

Kitchen is fully equipped. Complementary water and drinks are really appreciated. Everything we looked for was ready there.

All of my family enjoyed and loved staying in Cozy Home. Special thanks to Firat. Communication is fast, helpful and very detailed. Firat definitely makes our stay more enjoyable.

  • Florian from Switzerland – 29 January 2025 (10/10)

The Ottoman house is located in the middle of the old town. It is very well maintained and attention has been paid to useful details with lots of little extras for everyday life. We felt very comfortable during this week in January. We also made friends with the small cat community outside. The kitchen is fully equipped. The various air conditioning units provide cooling or heating. The contact with the owner was very friendly and helpful. If we come to Antalya again, we would be happy to stay in “Good Stays” again.

  • Carl from Netherlands – 30 November 2024 (9/10)

    Resturant breakfast was great

What could be improved: The refrigerator was in a terrible place. Very akward

  • Melvon from United States – 9 October 2024 (10/10)

A perfect, peaceful getaway from the busy town. All the comforts of home with a more than generous provision of water and kitchen supplies. The private, gated entry and the view of the mosque from upstairs bedrooms was an added bonus. I would definitely stay here again when in Atalya. Excellent!!!

  • Viktorija from United Kingdom – 26 August 2024 (10/10)

The property was beautiful, clean and we loved the kitchen to dinning area with the open window and sun roof. The property was in the perfect location. Our host was so amazing from start to finish. They made sure we were ready for our trip, they were quick to answer any questions and helped us have an amazing stay! We felt like we were in our own holiday home, cosy and could relax. We can’t thank you enough.

What could be improved: Everything was great!! Not a bad thing to say
