Dedehan Pansiyon Overview
I stumbled onto Dedehan Pansiyon almost by accident while wandering through Kaleiçi’s maze of cobblestone streets, and honestly? Best travel mistake I’ve made in years. This little gem sits tucked away on Mescit Sok – one of those narrow lanes where you can actually hear your footsteps echo off the old stone walls. The building itself has that weathered Ottoman charm that you just can’t fake, with traditional stonework that’s probably been standing here longer than most hotels have been a glimmer in some developer’s eye. You know what struck me first? The silence. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Antalya’s old town, but once you step inside, all that tourist hustle just… disappears.
The owners clearly put thought into preserving the authentic character without making you feel like you’re camping in a museum. My room had these gorgeous arched windows that framed views of the surrounding rooftops – nothing fancy, but there’s something magical about watching the morning light creep across those red tiles while sipping Turkish tea. The bathrooms are compact (this is a historic building, after all), but everything works and the water pressure is surprisingly decent. Actually, I was worried about noise since the old town can get pretty lively, especially during summer evenings when everyone’s wandering around looking for dinner, but the thick walls do their job. You might catch some conversation from the street if you’re a light sleeper, but it’s more charming than disruptive – sort of like having the city’s heartbeat as your soundtrack.
What really sets this place apart is how it feels like staying with locals who actually care about your experience. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out – they’ll point you toward the best börek place (it’s literally around the corner) and warn you which restaurants are tourist traps. Location-wise, you’re maybe a three-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate and five minutes from the marina, but you’re also close enough to slip back for an afternoon nap when the midday heat gets too intense. Parking can be tricky since most of Kaleiçi is pedestrian-only, but they’ll help you figure out the closest spots. I’d say this place hits that sweet spot between authenticity and comfort – it’s not going to win any luxury awards, but if you want to feel like you’re actually experiencing Antalya rather than just visiting it, Dedehan delivers. Just don’t expect resort-style amenities; this is more about soaking up centuries of history while having a genuinely comfortable base for exploring one of Turkey’s most captivating neighborhoods.

Reviews of Dedehan Pansiyon

The accommodation is in a great location, the staff are friendly and the food was fine. The rooms are very outdated and basic, and cleanliness could be stepped up- I could smell tobacco and cologne from previous guests on the bedding. Free use of bikes- which was listed- does not exist. Slippers mentioned in facilities equates to old plastic flip-flops used by many previous guests. Overall, acceptable for the price.

Small and cozy hotel in city center
What could be improved: There’s no elevatorGeorge from United Kingdom – 14 August 2024 (9/10)
Location, parking, breakfast, and staff
What could be improved: The room for a family of 5 was at the top floor under the roof with a low ceiling. Overall, the room was dated, and it can be a nice one if some refurbishments would be done.Никита from Russia – 24 July 2024 (7/10)
The landlord is very positive and nice. The room itself is quite good. Location is good, in center and near the grocery store.
What could be improved: Couldn’t pay by card. Wi-Fi is not that strong.Alex from Sweden – 14 July 2024 (8/10)
The staff is really helpful and helped me park my car.
Cristina from United Kingdom – 16 June 2024 (8/10)
The staff were brilliant, and even gave us a lift to the bus station at 4.30am, which was really helpful.
The location is amazing and in the old city and really easy to find
What could be improved: Nothing! All good 👍Vitaly from Russia – 27 March 2024 (9/10)
Greate value for this price! I only paid 16 USD per night, and all the facilities were of decent quality. My reservation included no breakfast, but I had free tea in the morning and in the evening anyway!
What could be improved: The room on the ground floor was a little bit noisy, especially in the evening. Yes, it was not perfectly clean, but nothing serious.Elisa from Italy – 7 March 2023 (8/10)
We enjoyed the perfect location and abundant breakfast. Room was ok, owner very kind. Great value for money!

Excellent location and is close to the tramway stop where you can reach the airport. The staff was amiable and welcoming, they helped me with the airport transfer and I was able to store my luggage after checkout. Basic and budget-friendly accommodation on the quiet street of Kaleiçi.
What could be improved: No toilet paper in the bathroom, but it wasn't a big issue for me.Naktibalda from Lithuania – 26 September 2022 (8/10)
The location is good, very central, close to the sea coast and in the very heart of the old town. However, it is next to a bar street, so if your room windows are facing the street, it may be a bit noisy till 2 a.m. or so. But if windows are closed, it's quite ok. We tried two rooms: one facing the yard, another facing the street. Both were fine for us. The owners and staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good! If not the breakfast at the pension, it would be hard to find anything around. The room, bathroom and towels were all clean. There was shampoo and soap. Air conditioning worked fine. The building is quite historical, but at the same time feels slightly old. All in all, it was a good local option. I would stay again! The comments by some people about the missing window glass and water from the tap going not straight into the sink, but on the sink's edge are true, we experienced both, but it only made us smile 🙂 The rooms on the second floor are much better than on the third (roof) floor. Roof floor rooms are the bigger ones (5 beds), one of which have a missing glass 🙂 If you are 2 people, you will certainly get a double or twin room on the second floor, which are nicer.
What could be improved: As we were trying to work a bit, the internet speed was not excellent. As far as we tried, it is similar everywhere in Antalya's old town. But if you are traveling for work, you may need to consider mobile internet options. Some facilities (e.g. curtain rod) could be renovated.
