You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I stepped onto that second-floor balcony, I could actually smell the sea breeze mixing with those pine trees that seem to grow everywhere in this part of Antalya. “Denize yakın, ferah daire” literally means “close to the sea, spacious apartment” – and honestly, they weren’t kidding about either part. I mean, you’re tucked away on 526th Street in what feels like a proper residential neighborhood, not some touristy strip, but somehow you can still catch glimpses of the Mediterranean if you crane your neck just right.

The apartment itself is bigger than most hotel rooms you’ll find in the area, which makes sense since it’s actually someone’s converted flat rather than a purpose-built hotel. The owner clearly knows what travelers need – there’s this great little kitchen setup where I ended up making Turkish coffee every morning (the local market on the corner sells those tiny cups if you want the full experience). What really impressed me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re in the city center. I was there during peak season in July, and while the main boulevards get pretty hectic with scooters and buses, this side street maintains this almost village-like calm. The building’s got that classic Turkish apartment feel – you know, marble stairs that stay cool even in summer heat, and neighbors who’ll nod hello but respect your privacy.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to figure out – you’re actually perfectly positioned between the old town (Kaleiçi) and the newer beach areas. Walk about fifteen minutes toward the coast and you hit some of the better local beaches, the ones where Turkish families go rather than the resort crowds. But if you head inland, you’re right in the mix of real Antalya life – proper bakeries, that amazing spice market near the old bus station, and restaurants where the menu’s only in Turkish (always a good sign). The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be a fancy hotel – it’s just a really well-thought-out space in a spot that locals would actually choose to live. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that lobby waiting around. The host met me right at the building entrance and walked me up, pointing out where to get the best döner on the block and which dolmuş routes run latest at night. Sure, it’s only rated three stars, but sometimes that just means you’re getting the real deal instead of some sanitized hotel experience.

  The friendly owner was very hospitable and even waited for us outside when we arrived late. He was always just a message away. The apartment was exceptionally clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The balcony was just perfect for our breakfast. It’s a couple of blocks walk to the beach but the location of this building in a quiet residential area makes up for it. If you walk in the opposite there is a huge supermarket and other shops at the main junction which is handy.

  Der Gastgeber ist ausgesprochen nett und flexibel. Da unser Flug 2 mal umgebucht wurde, mussten wir erst das Reisedatum und dann noch die Ankunftszeit ändern. Das war überhaupt kein Problem. Die Wohnung ist für 2 Personen schön groß und hat einen Balkon. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurant sind fußläufig erreichbar. Wir waren im Winter da und leider war es etwas kalt, aber die Klimaanlage funktionierte gut als Heizung. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht, sogar Fernseher, Waschmaschine und Spülmaschine. Das Auto konnten wir vor dem Haus parken.
  
  What could be improved: In der Küche und am Waschbecken im Bad gibt es nur kaltes Wasser. Lediglich die Dusche hatte warmes Waser. Das war für uns ungewöhnlich, ist aber im Sommer sicher kein Problem.
