It’s maybe a seven-minute walk to decent sand, and the path takes you through some residential streets where you’ll see actual Turkish families hanging laundry and playing backgammon in doorways.

What surprised me most was how quiet it gets after sunset – I was expecting typical Mediterranean tourist noise, but this part of the street actually settles down. The apartment itself feels properly lived-in rather than sterile hotel clean, if that makes sense. There’s attention to details that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just crashing after sightseeing – good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and a kitchen setup that suggests someone understood you might want to grab groceries from the local market rather than eat out every meal. The building’s got character too, sort of that 1990s Turkish coastal architecture that’s aged well without trying too hard to be boutique-y. Parking was easier than I expected, though I’d still recommend asking about it when you book if you’re planning to rent a car. The whole experience just felt… I don’t know, authentic?
