I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the DG Hotels Rose Resort on Atatürk Boulevard, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The location is actually pretty smart though, sitting right on the main drag through Kemer but far enough from the absolute chaos of the marina area. You know what I mean if you’ve been to Kemer in peak season – it gets wild down there.

The thing about this place is it’s one of those solid, no-nonsense four-star spots that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The lobby has that familiar Turkish resort vibe with marble floors and lots of burgundy furniture, but honestly, it works. Check-in was smooth enough, though I’d recommend getting there earlier in the day if you’re arriving during July or August – that’s when the tour groups tend to roll in and things get a bit hectic. The staff speaks decent English, which is always a relief when you’re trying to figure out dinner reservations or need directions to the dolmuş stop.

What I really appreciated was how walkable everything is from here. You’re maybe a ten-minute stroll to Kemer’s main beach strip, and there’s actually a decent bakery just two blocks down if you want proper Turkish bread for breakfast instead of the hotel buffet every day. The rooms are, well, they’re fine – clean, air conditioning works (crucial in summer), and the balconies have either mountain or partial sea views depending on which side you’re on. I mean, don’t expect luxury finishes, but everything functions and the beds are comfortable enough. The bathroom could use some updating – the tiles are a bit dated and the shower pressure is sort of hit or miss, but it’s nothing that ruins the experience.

The pool area is where this place actually shines. It’s not huge, but it’s got plenty of loungers and stays relatively quiet during the day since most guests head to the beach. The poolside service is surprisingly good too – the guys there remember your drink order after a day or two, which is a nice touch. Evenings can get lively with the entertainment program, though if you’re in a room facing the pool, you might want to pack earplugs. They usually wrap up the music by 11 PM, so it’s not terrible.

Here’s the thing about the 7.1 rating – it’s actually pretty accurate. This isn’t a place that’s going to blow you away, but it’s not going to disappoint either. The food is standard Turkish resort fare with some international options, the location gives you easy access to both Kemer’s attractions and the gorgeous coastline, and the price point usually makes sense for what you get. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, keep scrolling. But if you want a reliable base for exploring the area without breaking the bank, and you don’t mind that slightly worn-around-the-edges charm that a lot of these established Turkish resorts have, you could do a lot worse than the Rose Resort.

  What could be improved: 1) Mosquitoes (it would be nice to add mosquito nets).
  2) Parties until 23 is a bit too much. I think most of the people would prefer it to finish earlier and sleep.
  3) That would be nice to add washing machines (even for extra price)

  Staff were very helpful and friendly. Facilities were very clean and the gardens were very well maintained. The hotel is smaller than many and shops were within walking distance. Watching the peacocks free roam for short periods was lovely too!
  
  What could be improved: The food was very poor. Not authentic Turkish food and the meat was always overcooked and chewy. The food was often lukewarm as well.
  
  The bed in our room was broken on one side and very uncomfortable.

  What could be improved: The room smelled like humidity, specially from the bathroom. Not a good isolation, we eared everything from the bedroom, even the other hosts goin to their rooms.
  The food was not good, and without variety. They stared to give us one bottle of still water every day (left in the room) but they stoped for the last 3 days.
  The cocktails were not good. They did not serve cocktails/beer/food on the beach bar.
  It was very difficult to find a place in the pool if you go after 8h30, but people leave their affairs to Keep the place and go out after! Not fair and not controlled by the hotel.
  We must pay to access to the wi-fi! Ridiculous!
  Almost all the staff didn’t speak English, but 90% of them speaks Russian very well.
  Almost 80% of the guests were from Rússia and everything is ok with that, but we (people with other nationalities) are turists too!
  Overall I don’t think that’s a 4 stars’ hotel.

  Where to start?
  When we first arrived at the hotel, we were greeted very warmly and with a smile.
  The rooms and general areas are very clean.
  All the staff were really friendly and smiling, they helped us a lot with everything. I definitely recommend this hotel.
  Entertainment programs were organized for guests every evening at the hotel. During our stay here, we watched belly dances, dance programs representing Turkish ethnicity, DJ nights and live music shows.
  The food was good and delicious, there were different food options every day. There are lots of salad and fruit options available and the desserts were particularly delicious. Drinks are served at the poolside bar until 23:00, and you can enjoy cocktails and drinks all day long.
  The hotel has a private entrance and a magnificent area on the beach side.
  
  OVERALL 10/10 FOR THIS PLACE.
