Efsali Hotel Kaleiçi Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow cobblestone streets of Kaleiçi to reach Efsali Hotel Kaleiçi feels like stepping back in time — and honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re staying in Antalya’s historic quarter. The hotel sits tucked away on a quiet side street, which I actually loved because you get all the charm of the old town without the constant tourist foot traffic right outside your door. It’s one of those places where the entrance might seem modest, but once you’re inside, you realize you’ve found something special in this four-star gem.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what really struck me about staying here? You’re literally in the heart of everything that makes Antalya magical, but you can still find peaceful moments. The hotel’s location in Kaleiçi means you can wander to Hadrian’s Gate in about five minutes, and the marina with all its restaurants and bars is just a short stroll downhill. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 9.4 out of 10 for good reason — you can explore the ancient Roman walls, duck into local shops selling everything from Turkish carpets to handmade jewelry, then retreat back to your quiet street when you need a break from the bustle.

The Rooms

Here’s something I wasn’t expecting — the beds are genuinely fantastic. I’m usually pretty picky about hotel mattresses, but I slept incredibly well here, which apparently isn’t just my experience since the hotel gets consistently high marks for comfort. The rooms blend traditional Ottoman touches with modern amenities in a way that feels authentic rather than forced. Most rooms have these lovely stone details and wooden accents that remind you you’re staying in a restored historic building, but you’ll still find all the contemporary comforts you actually need (good air conditioning is crucial in Antalya summers, trust me).

Exploring from Here

What I really appreciated was how easy it became to slip into the rhythm of old town life. Mornings, I’d grab Turkish coffee from a nearby café and walk the ancient streets before they got crowded. The hotel staff — who genuinely know the neighborhood — pointed me toward this tiny family-run restaurant just around the corner that I never would have found otherwise. Being right in Kaleiçi means you’re surrounded by centuries of history, but you’re also close enough to the modern city that you can easily catch a dolmuş or taxi if you want to explore Antalya’s beaches or shopping areas.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something about staying at Efsali Hotel Kaleiçi that feels more authentic than the big resort hotels along the coast. You’re not just visiting Antalya — you’re actually living in its most historic neighborhood, even if it’s just for a few days. The combination of that unbeatable location (seriously, a 9.6 location score speaks for itself), comfortable accommodations, and the chance to experience the old town like a temporary resident rather than a tourist makes this place stand out. It’s refined and well-maintained without being stuffy, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring one of Turkey’s most beautiful historic cities.

Reviews of Efsali Hotel Kaleiçi

  • Maxham from United States – 27 April 2025 (9/10)

The location is excellent and was great for a short stay. The man who checked us in was very kind and welcoming! The bed was comfortable as well.

What could be improved: The towels in our room looked like they hadn’t been cleaned, with makeup and dirt on them.

  • David from Australia – 23 October 2024 (9/10)

Location great for old town, waterfront, parks, transport and attractions. Away from noisy nightlife but close enough to cafes etc. Comfortable room and great value. Breakfast offered two blocks away was excellent.

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike

  • Ginni from India – 16 September 2024 (9/10)

Location is just perfect !!! Owner of the property was just a perfect host .. Very kind a supportive. We reached a bit early n since early check in was not possible for them , they offered us complimentary breakfast which was a very kind gesture. Last but not the least they offer tea n coffee free of charge for the full day .. 5 stars for their memorable hospitality 😊

What could be improved: Bathroom is small

  • Igor from Germany – 16 June 2024 (9/10)

I highly recommend this place. A very very nice family hotel. Friendly and hospitable people, everything is clean and tidy. The location is good – in the old city center, 10-14 minutes from the tram stop, you can get to the public beach. The walking streets are nearby, but after 12 am everything is quiet.
The hotel has breakfasts, outdoors in their cozy courtyard there is a lot of everything-fresh vegetables, herbs, chopped cheeses, there were even a few ready-made dishes-one day there were potatoes, another some salad, olives, of course cereals and bread, you can spread them in different ways. They also offer a fresh omelet to prepare delicious tea and coffee and a simple but delicious pie.
We were allowed to leave things before and after arrival. They even gave me a vacuum cleaner to vacuum things)) Thank you very much for a great stay!❤️☀️

  • Nisarg from India – 2 June 2024 (9/10)

The hotel is in Old Town Kaleici and is conveniently located near a metro station. Room was nice. Staff was friendly

What could be improved: Bathroom felt a little small

  • Irina from Russia – 17 October 2023 (9/10)

It was a good location, easy to find and central, in histirical area. The host was very friendly. The bed was comfortable. The price was acceptable.

What could be improved: It was a bit uncomfortable that shower without the curtains.

  • Jason from United Kingdom – 10 October 2023 (9/10)

Felt safe in this hotel and they are very responsive to questions and requests! I like that it is near everywhere too cause its in Old Town. If you guys ever visit Antalya book this hotel!

What could be improved: For the money I paid to stay here, it was good value. Nothing in particular I did not like

  • Svetlana from Russia – 2 October 2023 (9/10)

Being in the heart of the Old town and having absolutely no noise for a good sleep-it is absolutely unique for Antalya.
Quiet place, centrally located, comfortable bed, balcony hided by lemon trees -I needed nothing more for my 2 nights stay.
Simple but clean and nice room, spacious enough to accommodate and comfortably place things and a suitcase,
high ceilings. I read in the comments that the shower is in the same space with the toilet, but actually it is common for small hotels and private sectors at small seaside villages, for me, it was absolutely no problem. Close the toilet lid and take a shower. The main thing is that the sewage system works properly, and the water does not stagnate anywhere.

What could be improved: Nothing to tell, for me most important was possibility to sleep at the night, and comfy bed with a clean linen. All these are met.

  • Brett from Australia – 29 September 2023 (8/10)

Faruq, was so very helpful and friendly.
He even helped out with a language barrier at hamam.
    Truly he was a gentleman.

What could be improved: Bathroom was really limited.
