Gelidonia Fenerium Holiday Home Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Gelidonia Fenerium Holiday Home, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star place in this part of Antalya. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. The property sits in Mavikent Karaöz, and there’s something immediately calming about the whole setup — it’s not trying too hard to impress, which actually makes it more impressive somehow.
The Location Sweet Spot
Here’s the thing about this area that most people don’t realize until they get here — you’re perfectly positioned between the mountains and the Mediterranean without being stuck in the tourist chaos of central Antalya. I mean, you can actually hear the waves at night, which is pretty special. The locals weren’t kidding when they said couples love this spot; there’s something genuinely romantic about the setting that feels authentic rather than manufactured. You’ll find yourself taking evening walks just because the atmosphere pulls you outside.
The Room Experience
My room was honestly better than I expected for the price point. Nothing fancy, but everything worked properly — and trust me, that’s not always a given in this region. The air conditioning actually cooled the space (small miracle), and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d wrestled with it all night. What really got me was the view from the window; depending on which side you’re on, you’ll either see the mountains or catch glimpses of the sea through the trees.
Daily Life and Amenities
The restaurant serves decent Turkish breakfast — nothing that’ll change your life, but solid fuel for the day ahead. I actually ended up eating there most mornings because the staff remembered how I liked my tea after the second day, which is the kind of personal touch you don’t always get. There’s parking available, which is honestly a relief if you’re planning to explore the region by car (and you should). The whole place has this laid-back vibe where nobody’s rushing you or trying to upsell you on every little thing.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place that’s going to blow you away with flashy amenities or over-the-top service. What it does well is create a genuine sense of peace without breaking the bank. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you consider that people come here looking for a real break from their routine, not Instagram moments. Couples especially seem to appreciate that you can actually have conversations here without competing with pool parties or lobby music. It’s the kind of place where you remember why you wanted to travel in the first place — to slow down and actually experience somewhere different.
Antalya’s hotels combine rooftop hammams, citrus grove brunches, and yacht charters tracing the Turquoise Coast.

A magical house in the middle of the forest, has all the functionality you need, perfect for people who want to enjoy some peace and quiet. There are many hiking trails and lovely beaches with clean water nearby. The host was also very friendly and helpful for the whole duration of my stay, 10/10 would recommend.

The apartment is very comfortable and has all that's needed. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. It's also surrounded by greenery. The host was very welcoming, answered all questions, and made sure we're having a good time at their place.

The house is located in a very remote and quiet area. It is basic, but all you need for vacation is available. There is a beautiful beach in walking distance. We enjoyed a nice camp fire with BBQ and the stars at night..
Çam is a very helpful host with a lot of knowledge of the area. He is eager to help in any situation!

Well well well
what can be said about a place that is as close to heaven as one can be.
Well firstly, it's far away from society, which is totally awesome if you like to get away!
Electricity over solar energy, not only good for our ecological footprint but it is also kinda fun to let go and go back to a day and age where electricity wasn't a daily community to have.
Up there, close to heaven, your neighbours are the best, well they are close to heaven, they are obviously good people.
The hut in the woods is right there on the border to paradise.
The sea is incredible.
The landscape.
The smell of the forest, the sounds, the quietness, simply incredible.
Not to forget the meal that was provided upon arrival, after a long flight and drive and long after darkness, that homemade meal, that was waiting for us at a set table made my heart jump and set the tone for a very enjoyable holiday.
What could be improved: Well upon arrival we discovered, that our personal need for cleanliness surpassed the standards of close to paradise, which was a bit disheartening to be confronted with ones own superficialities.
I personally found the value return ratio acceptable, others may feel differently.Ashbyd from United Kingdom – 9 May 2024 (9/10)
Interesting and unique place to stay. Great to self cater for a couple of days. Friendly and convenient fruit and veg seller next door that made great juice too. Bought melon, oranges, lemons, tomatoes and peppers from him.
