Hotel Lunay Overview

You know what struck me first about Hotel Lunay? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Konyaalti where you’d never expect to find a hotel – honestly, I walked past it twice before spotting the subtle signage. The whole place has this understated boutique vibe that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than some cookie-cutter hotel chain. It’s one of those spots that doesn’t bother with official star ratings, which actually works in its favor because they’re not trying to fit into some predetermined box.

The location is pretty clever when you think about it. You’re in Arapsuyu, which means you’re close enough to the beach action (maybe a 10-minute walk to those gorgeous Konyaalti pebble beaches) but far enough from the main drag that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling home at 3 AM. The neighborhood has that authentic Turkish residential feel – you’ll see locals walking to the corner bakery in the morning, kids playing in small parks, that sort of thing. I mean, it’s not the most happening area if you want to stumble out of your hotel straight into bars and restaurants, but there’s something refreshing about experiencing Antalya beyond the tourist bubble. Plus, getting into the old town or the marina area is pretty straightforward – grab a dolmuş or just call a taxi.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area. Not just the obvious tourist spots, but they pointed me toward this incredible little fish restaurant about three blocks over that I never would have found otherwise. The rooms themselves have character – nothing fancy or Instagram-perfect, but clean and thoughtfully designed with little touches that show someone cares. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me; it’s solidly good without being spectacular, and honestly, that feels about right for the price point. Some mornings I’d sit with Turkish coffee on what passes for a small terrace area, watching the neighborhood wake up, and it felt genuinely peaceful. Sure, the WiFi could be stronger and the shower pressure isn’t going to blow you away, but those feel like minor trade-offs for the authentic neighborhood experience. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re actually in Turkey rather than some sanitized resort version of it, Hotel Lunay hits that sweet spot.

Reviews of Hotel Lunay

  • Illy27 from Netherlands – 23 July 2024 (9/10)

Free breakfast, public swimming pool and activities arrangement (costed me around 40 euros). Staffs were also very friendly and talkative. It definitely has the bare minimum of what you need from a hotel room but for a very cheap price.

What could be improved: I know that it's a budget hotel room but the facilities could be a little better, the air conditioning was very old, fridge wasn't cold enough to cool drinks, you don't always have access to warm water for shower and the hair dryer was falling apart.

The staff was very kind. Good located just across the best restaurant to eat.
    Big room. Clean. With balcony

What could be improved: Is not as close to the beach. You need to walk at least 10 minutes

  • Imene from Algeria – 10 August 2023 (9/10)

We went for a 13days stay and I'm glad i didn't listen to the bad comments i saw on booking. The hotel position is amazing ! It's 5-7 minutes by walk to the beach ( konyaalti plajı ) and 2-3 minutes walk to the main road where you can find everything you need ( restaurants, supermarkets, bus stops, taxis, beauty centers…etc) . The place is calm. Except for some of the hotel guests who were loud ! The staff is amazing and very kind especially savaş 😊. The breakfast was a simple turkish breakfast but fine. I would absolutely choose it again if i had to go back to Antalya ! Thank you Lunay hotel staff ❤

What could be improved: Our room's AC wasn't working properly and the room is smaller than what you can see on pictures but it wasn't a big deal comparing to the advantages.

Nice hotel! Really, very close to the beach and the beautiful promenade (7 minutes if you take a short road). We had two weeks on vacation, we liked everything. Excellent, friendly staff who helped resolve all our issues. Good quality cleaning. Thanks! We have a very good impression of the trip!
