So I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to IS Hotel on that narrow street in Fener, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come from keeping your expectations in check. The building itself is pretty modest, tucked away on 1974 Sokak (which, if you’re wondering, is one of those residential streets where actual Antalya locals live – not the touristy waterfront strips).

What really got me was how the staff treated us like we were staying somewhere twice the price. Check-in was smooth, no weird bureaucratic nonsense, and the guy at the front desk actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give us real directions to places. The rooms are clean and functional – I mean, we’re not talking luxury here, but everything works and it’s got that comfortable, lived-in feel that beats sterile chain hotels any day. The air conditioning was a lifesaver during those brutal July afternoons, and honestly, the beds were way more comfortable than I expected. There’s something to be said for a place that focuses on getting the basics really right instead of trying to impress you with fancy lobbies and then disappointing you upstairs.

The location is actually pretty clever if you think about it. You’re far enough from the main tourist chaos to get a real feel for how Antalya actually lives and breathes, but close enough that you can walk to the more interesting parts of the old city without your feet falling off. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle on this street – it’s narrow and gets busy during the day – but there’s usually something available if you’re patient. I loved that we could grab breakfast at the little café two blocks down where the owner’s grandmother makes these incredible börek pastries, and there’s a proper market nearby where locals actually shop. The noise level was surprisingly reasonable too, considering you’re in the middle of a working neighborhood. Sure, you’ll hear some street sounds, but it’s not the kind of place where delivery trucks are rumbling past at 5 AM.

What really sealed it for me was the value – an 8.2 rating for a 3-star hotel isn’t something you stumble across every day, and after staying there, I totally get why. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why sometimes the best travel experiences come from choosing character over flash. Would I stay there again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to friends who want to experience Antalya without paying resort prices or dealing with tourist-trap nonsense? Definitely. Just don’t expect a pool or room service – this is about location, comfort, and genuine hospitality, which honestly matters more than most of the bells and whistles anyway.

  good clean rooms, staff was friendly and always ready to help. really good location as it sits in the middle of the main city and lara beach, also a very short walk away from really good cafés that sit on the edge of a cliff that give you a great place to walk and chill with a view.
  
  What could be improved: room was a bit smaller than expected, but it wasnt too much of an issue, main thing was that everything was clean and the toilet was pretty spacious which is a bonus

  I stay in this hotel in Feb 25. I didn't have breakfast, but there's a nice café where you can get yours (it opens at 7 am), isn't too noisy, has a lovely balcony, good size of the room, coffe/tea facilities in the room, excellent air conditioning, and is close to bars, restaurants, and shops (Migros MM/MMM).
  
  What could be improved: probably carpet needs to be re-placed next to the balcony (in my room I stayed).

  Great management, made me feel very welcome and always greeted me every morning.
  Room was always cleaned and I had my own private garden area which was very nice.
  
  What could be improved: My only complaint was due to being on the ground floor the noise levels were a bit too much during late hours into the night and morning.

  Great location for what I needed, lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance and also man made wooden platforms on the seas edge.
  The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was really nice with a lovely little garden area to the rear.
  I have read other reviews and a lot talk about the hot water in the hotel saying there isn’t any…
  There is hot water but the boiler seems to be slow heating it up. Just be warned that the hot water in the shower wasn’t instant and if you plan to have a shower leave it running for about 10 mins before you get in.
  All in all a lovely stay. Wifi worked well and the tv was able to take a fire stick which came in very handy.
  
  What could be improved: Perhaps they could give you a bit more water and toilet paper however that’s just me ☺️

  Very modern and beautiful room. Very clean and nice staff. You directly have restaurants and a supermarket around. Best place to stay if you want to be close to the airport.
