Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Antalya’s old town, but the Kaleiçi Ozkavak Hotel honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how most “boutique” places throw that word around without really meaning it? Well, this one actually gets it right. It’s tucked away on Civelek Sokak – and I mean really tucked away, so don’t expect your taxi driver to find it immediately – but that’s part of what makes it special. The whole street feels like stepping back in time, with these narrow cobblestones and old Ottoman houses that haven’t been Disney-fied for tourists yet.

The building itself is this beautifully restored stone house that probably dates back a couple hundred years, though honestly, the owner would know better than me. What I can tell you is that they’ve done the restoration right – kept all the character but added modern touches where they actually matter. The rooms have this wonderful mix of exposed stone walls and contemporary furniture that doesn’t try too hard to be “authentic.” My room had these thick walls that kept everything blissfully cool even during the August heat, and surprisingly quiet considering you’re basically in the heart of the old town. I mean, you’ll still hear the call to prayer from the nearby mosque and maybe some late-night conversations from the street below, but it’s more atmospheric than annoying.

What really sets this place apart though is the location within Kaleiçi itself. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate – you know, that Roman triumphal arch that everyone photographs – but you’re far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t be dealing with cruise ship crowds at 7 AM. The family running the place actually lives in the neighborhood and they’ll point you toward the good lokanta where locals eat, not the tourist traps near the marina. There’s this tiny tea garden about fifty meters down the street that I never would’ve found on my own, and the best börek I had in Turkey was from a place the hotel owner recommended that’s not even marked with a sign.

The whole setup feels more like staying with knowledgeable friends than checking into a hotel, if that makes sense. No official star rating, but honestly, that’s because it doesn’t fit into those rigid categories anyway. It’s got that 8.6 rating for good reason – everything works, it’s spotlessly clean, and the staff genuinely cares about your experience without being overbearing about it. Just don’t expect a huge lobby or a pool or anything like that. What you get instead is character, location, and that increasingly rare feeling that you’ve discovered something special that hasn’t been completely commercialized yet. If you’re the type who wants to actually experience Antalya’s old town rather than just snap photos of it, this is your place.

  Great hotel. Great location.
  Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, the shower worked brilliantly, as did the air con. Lovely pool area and good restaurant and cafe. Great location in the old town but easy to get to local shops and bars. Great holiday with Ozman and staff. We'll be back

  A cosy place in the very heart of the old town. It had all we needed: a beautiful garden with lemon, orange and fig trees, a pool, a restaurant and very responsive staff. They would always go out of their way to help us (especially Suleiman and Yavuz). It's a great place if you travel with your family. Even when we didn't feel like sightseeing too much, we spent lovely time in the hotel's garden. They keep a cute spaniel and there are a few turtles in the fountain – our toddler was on cloud nine :).

  The room was very spacious. The cleaners & staff generally were helpful & amazing. The price was truly great & location was a few minutes from the shops. One minute away from Hadrians Gate & excellent place to stroll.

  Lovely place! Surrounded by fruit trees and the charm of an old neighbourhood we felt transported to an enchanted house!
  
  Great location! ery clean rooms.! We loved that we had two rooms and 2 bathrooms. When the hot water disappeared the staff worked very hard to fix the issue and all was good within an hour.
  
  The car park was a bit tight but the hotel staff and owners helped always so it was no trouble at all.
  
  The breakfast was served in the garden and was always a wonderful start to the day. They offered a set menu and was a hearty helping.
  
  Dog lovers would love the friendly and very well behaved Caramel!
  
  Would love to stay there again!
