Kervan Hotel Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Antalya’s old town, but Kervan Hotel really caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how most boutique hotels try so hard to be “authentic” that they end up feeling like theme parks? This place actually gets it right. It’s tucked away on Hesapçı Sokak, which honestly took me a few tries to find the first time (GPS gets a bit wonky in those narrow Kaleiçi streets), but that’s part of its charm. The building itself has this weathered stone facade that blends perfectly with the Ottoman-era architecture around it, and when you step inside – well, it’s like walking into someone’s really well-curated home rather than a hotel lobby.
The rooms have character without being overly precious about it. I stayed in one facing the courtyard, and honestly, waking up to the sound of fountain water instead of traffic was worth the booking alone. The owner clearly put thought into the details – proper reading lights (thank god), decent water pressure, and those little touches like locally-made soaps that actually smell good. I mean, the WiFi could be stronger on the upper floors, and the stairs are definitely not for anyone with mobility issues, but these feel like minor trade-offs for the atmosphere you get. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being right in the heart of Kaleiçi – you’re maybe a three-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate and all the tourist madness, but Hesapçı Sokak itself stays pretty peaceful, especially in the evenings.
Here’s what you need to know if you’re considering it: this isn’t a place for people who want a big pool or a fitness center (there’s neither). It’s for travelers who appreciate being able to walk to Mermerli Beach in ten minutes, grab proper Turkish breakfast at the little place around the corner, and actually experience old Antalya without feeling like they’re staying in a resort bubble. The staff – especially Mehmet at the front desk – know the neighborhood inside and out, which is invaluable when you’re trying to figure out which restaurants are tourist traps and which ones the locals actually frequent. I’d definitely book again, probably in spring when the weather’s perfect and you can really enjoy wandering those cobblestone streets without melting in the summer heat.

Reviews of Kervan Hotel
Antonio from Saudi Arabia – 30 September 2024 (8/10)
Great location
Great value for money
What could be improved: Wood-ish smell in the room
Hot water not always available
Can hear everything in the restaurant downstairs till 2 AMCamelia from United Kingdom – 23 September 2024 (7/10)
Excellent location- very good restaurants, walking distance to rocky beaches and a lovely marina, many opportunities for excellent, guided day trips
Very friendly and helpful hotel staff
Good room size, daily cleaning to very high standards
Very good WiFi and air conditioning system
Very good food restaurant with live evening music up to midnight.
What could be improved: More of a B&B rather than a true hotel – only 5 rooms above a seafood restaurant, no dedicated reception, entry between the restaurant tables on a flight of stairs at the back of the room.
Room had no balcony/no space to dry towels, cloths
Shower had low pressure and big temperature variationsFirdaus from South Africa – 24 June 2024 (9/10)
Such a great location, in the heart of Kaleici. The location (above a restaurant) seems odd, but it was such a non-issue and was just such an easily accessible spot for us to come and go. We travelled with our young children and they loved the location and the area overall. We stayed only 2 nights but we felt so at home! Special thanks to Yuksel, who showed us such kindness and warmth. We arrived quite early and expected to drop our bags and find somewhere to wait it out, but she ushered us off to a cool bedroom and told my girls to have a rest. So appreciated after a long and busy travel time. Rooms are spotless and beds very comfortable.
What could be improved: It wasn’t an issue for us at all, but there is loud music till about midnight which might bother light sleepers.Mal from United Kingdom – 14 June 2024 (9/10)
Nice rooms. Nice bathroom. Clean room. Great location. Awesome food.
What could be improved: No pool that you can use.Farooq from Pakistan – 13 February 2024 (9/10)
Great location. Good staff. Extraordinarily good breakfast. Highly recommended.
Juju from United States – 15 November 2023 (9/10)
The room was very clean
What could be improved: Hotel is located above seafood restaurant that little noisy until little after mid-night.Navid from India – 9 October 2023 (8/10)
The facilities were top quality including the toiletries.
What could be improved: Their main business is a sea food restaurant with about 5 rooms as side business. It's located within the restaurant so don't expect much quiet in the night as they have live shows etc. It's also a bit hard to locate the hotel due to this.Apedrals from Spain – 19 August 2023 (8/10)
The hotel is in the historical center, the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was really modern. The breakfast wasn't buffet but it was nice anyway.
What could be improved: If you are looking for a calm location this is not your place. Being in the middle of the center means a lot of noise. There's also a restaurant downstairs with live music until midnight.Ruslan from Russia – 8 July 2023 (9/10)
Spacious room, not as noisy as it could have been, clean, good bathroom, tasty breakfast
What could be improved: It may be noisy due to location above the restaurantFazlien from South Africa – 7 July 2023 (9/10)
Perfect location right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms were modern and clean and great value for money. Great aircon and lovely bathrooms. Breakfast was fantastic and made & served with such pride🤗
What could be improved: I loved everything and would choose to stay here again for sure, but guests who require a lift may not be happy since there is only a flight of stairs to get to the rooms.
