Kesik Apart Overview

You know what struck me first about Kesik Apart? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street in Kaleiçi where you can actually hear the Mediterranean lapping against the old harbor walls – and I mean that literally, not in some cheesy brochure way. The building itself has this weathered stone facade that blends right into the old quarter, so much so that I walked past it twice before spotting the discreet sign. Once you’re inside though, it’s like stepping into someone’s beautifully renovated Ottoman-era home, which honestly is probably exactly what it used to be.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I stayed in what they call a junior suite, and it had this little kitchenette that actually worked (rare in my experience) and a sitting area with windows that open onto the narrow street below. Mornings were perfect because you’d wake up to the sound of shopkeepers hosing down their storefronts and the occasional donkey cart rumbling over the stones. The air conditioning worked well, which you’ll definitely need in summer – Antalya gets properly hot, and those old stone buildings can trap heat like nobody’s business. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail in the renovation: they kept the original wooden beams and stone archways but added modern touches like rainfall showers and decent Wi-Fi throughout.

The location is absolutely perfect if you want to be in the heart of historic Antalya without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist drag. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate and maybe five minutes from the marina, but Sakarya Sokak itself stays relatively quiet even during peak season. The staff – there’s this older gentleman named Mehmet who seems to know everyone in the neighborhood – will point you toward the best spots for breakfast (there’s a tiny place around the corner that does incredible börek) and can arrange everything from airport transfers to day trips to the waterfalls. I mean, you could easily book these things yourself, but there’s something nice about having local insight, especially when they steer you away from the tourist traps on the main square. The only minor downside is parking – if you’re renting a car, you’ll need to leave it in the public lot about a ten-minute walk away, but honestly, once you’re settled in Kaleiçi, you won’t need it much anyway. Everything worth seeing is either walkable or a quick dolmuş ride away.

  What could be improved: Il personale si limita ad accompagnare alla porta, nient'altro. L'appartamento è nel cuore della città vecchia e per entrare bisogna passare una sbarra spiegando all'incaricato che hai una prenotazione su booking o airb&b, non tutti la aprono e trovare parcheggio è un incubo. Questo aspetto dovrebbe essere meglio spiegato dal hosting che è totalmente disinteressato a questo aspetto. Il bagno non è ben rifinito ma pulito.

  Beautiful place right in the middle of the old town. Not far from the beach with beautiful lagoons you can swim in. A lot of nice places to eat and just sit in the evening. Supermarket "Migros" with everything necessary in a side street near the Hadrian Gate.
  
  What could be improved: There was something in the apartment which required repairing or improvement, but it was easy to be done. We reported it to the staff and it will probably be fixed for the next guests.
