You know what caught me off guard about Kont Pension? The name honestly had me a bit worried at first, but this little place tucked away in Kaleiçi actually turned out to be one of those hidden gems that locals probably wish tourists wouldn’t discover. I mean, finding it on Kandiller Geçidi feels like stumbling into someone’s well-kept secret – it’s this narrow cobblestone passage that most people rush past on their way to the more obvious attractions.

The thing about staying here is that you’re literally inside Antalya’s old town walls, which sounds touristy until you realize what that actually means for your daily routine. You’ll hear the morning call to prayer drifting over the terracotta rooftops, and honestly, it becomes this oddly comforting rhythm after a day or two. The pension itself has that authentic Ottoman house feel – thick stone walls that keep things surprisingly cool even when it’s blazing outside, and these wooden shutters that creak just enough to remind you you’re not in some sterile chain hotel. The rooms are simple (this is a 3-star place, so manage expectations), but they’re clean and the beds are actually comfortable, which isn’t always a given in this price range around Kaleiçi.

What really makes this spot work is the location – and I don’t mean that in the generic “convenient location” way every hotel claims. From here, you can walk to Hadrian’s Gate in about three minutes, but more importantly, you’re close enough to duck back for an afternoon nap when the midday heat gets brutal. The old harbor is maybe a five-minute stroll downhill, though coming back up those stone steps after a long dinner can be… well, let’s just say you’ll feel those Turkish meals. The family running the place seems to genuinely know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this tiny bakery on Hesapçı Sokak that I never would’ve found otherwise, where locals grab their morning simit. Parking can be tricky since you’re in the pedestrian-heavy part of the old town, but there’s a public lot about a ten-minute walk away if you’re driving. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it’s authentic and well-maintained, with that kind of unpretentious hospitality that makes you feel like you’re staying with distant relatives rather than checking into a business transaction.

  The hotel is nice and cheap, very good for a short staying. Everything is near – shops, restaurants, supermarkets, the marina. The staff is friendly and helpful 🙂

  Very good price for a modest room in the heart of Old Town of Antalya.
  Helpful attentive staff, good breakfast, location in calmer street (but near lots of cafes, shops and historical spots).
  This Hostel is for those who value authenticity (not luxury). Everything is simple but has a touch of history.
  
  What could be improved: In general beddings was really clean, but the surfaces (of mirror, mini fridge ) were a bit unpleasant to touch, maybe they were simply forgotten to be cleaned.
  If you a big (in size )person, bathroom could be small for you.

  I stayed here for one night on route to Olympos. Great location in the old town, close to resteraunts, shops, bars etc. Near to Ismetpasa tram stop which was ideal for me for onward travel.
  The owner and his nephew who ran the place were very friendly and helpful. The room and breakfast were basic but cheap and good value for money. Self service tea and coffee at anytime.
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast wasn't great but ok for the price.
