La Paloma Hotel Overview
You know what caught me off guard about La Paloma? It’s tucked away on this tiny cobblestone street called Tabakhane Sokak, and honestly, if you’re not looking for it, you’ll walk right past. I mean, that’s kind of the charm though – it feels like you’ve stumbled onto something the tour groups haven’t figured out yet. The building itself is this restored Ottoman house with those thick stone walls that keep everything surprisingly cool, even when it’s blazing hot outside in July.
What really got me was how the owners – and I actually think they live on-site – have managed to keep it feeling like a home rather than a hotel. The rooms are all different, which can be hit or miss, but here it works because each one has character. Mine had this little arched window that looked out onto the maze of Kaleiçi’s back streets, and I’d sit there in the mornings with Turkish coffee listening to the neighborhood wake up. The bathrooms are modern enough (thank god), but they’ve kept original details like the wooden ceiling beams and these gorgeous old tiles. Fair warning though – if you’re someone who needs everything perfectly soundproofed, the old walls do let you hear your neighbors sometimes, but it’s more charming than annoying.
The location is actually perfect if you want to explore the old town properly. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate, and the harbor is maybe five minutes downhill – though coming back up those cobblestones after dinner and a few drinks is… well, it’s exercise. What I loved most was being able to duck back to the hotel during the day when the crowds get overwhelming around the main sights. The little courtyard they have is this peaceful escape where you can actually hear birds instead of tour guides with megaphones. And here’s something nobody tells you – the staff genuinely knows the area. When I asked about finding a good fish place away from the tourist traps, they sent me to this spot on a side street where I was the only foreigner. That’s the kind of local knowledge you just don’t get at the big chain hotels down by the beach. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but for what it is (a genuine boutique experience in the heart of old Antalya), it absolutely nails it.

Unbelievably, the staff sent me a message a few hours after checkout saying they found my dad's airpods and they put them aside for us to pickup when we returned to Antalya.Anna from Poland – 7 May 2025 (9/10)
La Paloma Hotel is a beautiful place. Konak is amazing, with great and clean rooms, kind and helpful staff, good breakfast and perfect place to eat it🙂 it is in a center of old town but at the same town in a very quiet street. I definitely recommend it.
