Leila old house Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow cobblestone streets of Kaleici, you’ll stumble upon Leila old house tucked away on Musalla Sokak — and honestly, it feels like discovering a hidden gem. This three-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Antalya’s historic old town, where ancient Roman walls meet charming Ottoman architecture. The building itself has that weathered stone facade that tells stories, and you know what? It’s exactly the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere with real character, not just another cookie-cutter hotel.

The Historic Quarter Experience

The location score of 9.4 isn’t just a number — it actually makes sense when you’re here. You’re literally surrounded by centuries of history, with Hadrian’s Gate just a short stroll away and the old harbor where you can watch fishing boats bob alongside tour vessels. I mean, you can walk to the ancient city walls in about three minutes, and the maze of narrow streets around the hotel is perfect for getting pleasantly lost among local shops and cafes. What’s really nice is that despite being in such a tourist-heavy area, Musalla Sokak itself feels relatively quiet, especially in the evenings.

Your Room and Comfort

The room I stayed in had that authentic old-house charm — think exposed stone walls and traditional Turkish touches, but with modern amenities that actually work. The air conditioning was a lifesaver during those hot Antalya afternoons, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly reliable for a historic building. You’ll appreciate the attention to detail in the restoration; they’ve managed to keep the character while making sure everything functions properly. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and honestly, after spending your days exploring the old town, you’ll just want a comfortable place to crash.

Family-Friendly Perks

Here’s something I wasn’t expecting — they’ve got a kids’ club and evening entertainment, which is pretty unusual for a boutique property in the old quarter. The nightclub/DJ setup might sound odd for a historic guesthouse, but it’s actually quite tasteful and adds some energy to the evenings. There’s also that free parking, which is honestly a huge deal in Kaleici where most places either don’t have it or charge extra. Trust me, navigating these narrow streets with a rental car can be tricky, so having a guaranteed spot takes away a lot of stress.

Why Guests Love It

With a 9.1 rating, it’s clear that people really connect with this place — and couples especially seem to fall for its romantic old-world atmosphere. The combination of being steps away from major historical sites while still feeling tucked away from the crowds is pretty special. You’re close enough to the harbor to grab fresh seafood for dinner, yet far enough from the main tourist drag to avoid the constant hustle. Plus, the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay memorable, which goes a long way in a place like this where personal touches matter more than fancy amenities.

Reviews of Leila old house

  • Nicola from South Africa – 17 December 2024 (8/10)

Beautifully restored old house in old town Kaleici, safe and close to all tourist attractions. We arrived very late but were met by our friendly hostess. Comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen.

What could be improved: Very noisy nightclub next door!

  • Uliana from Czech Republic – 4 November 2024 (10/10)

Amazing location, authentic style, nice and comfy beds, friendly host, kitchen with washing machine, two separate toilets, thick doors between bedrooms, two separate showers. A bit loud in the evening and on mornings because of bar and church in nearby, however it was not that bad, so we all still had a good sleep at night, or traveler can buy the earplugs in pharmacy. 10 mins walk is municipality parking spot underneath the park to leave the car attended. Bus and tram stop 4 minutes walk. Taxi park is like 3 mins walk.

What could be improved: People sometimes sit in front of the house or come from the bar to have a smoke or talk on telephone, however never rude and if anything they just say sorry and go away. this is not host responsibility, but a cultural thing.

  • Daria from Latvia – 1 November 2024 (8/10)

Clean, cozy and stylish, this property is located in the very heart of the old town. Everything is walkable – the places of interest, supermarkets, restaurants, the beach. Public transport is easily accessible (including the tram which takes you to the airport). The host was friendly and helpful.

What could be improved: The only major disadvantage is the noise at night. Be prepared to the loud sound of the nightlife. The rest of the time it is quiet and peaceful thought.

  • Fernanda from Germany – 11 September 2024 (10/10)

Good location in the old town, perfect apartment with kitchen, 3 bathrooms and 3 rooms (2 with double bed and one single bed) and a living room. Good for groups of friends that want to go out at night and have fun at the many many bars nearby. It's a student neighborhood, so the night is really young. There's a beach nearby, oder beaches reachable with 20 minutes walking or with the tram.

What could be improved: I wouldn't recommend it to families with kids or people sensible to the night noises from the bars and drunk people, it's really for people looking to have fun and enjoy the night.

  • Denisa from Germany – 12 August 2024 (8/10)

The location is great. The house itself was very good with very functional AC and facilities. The owner/host was friendly and helpful whenever needed.

What could be improved: Only a few piccadillos… The water did not drain well in a few sinks and some drawers were a bit used/broken, but all in all everything could be used.

  • Tornike from United States – 25 June 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: The Bar next door!

  • Jade from United Kingdom – 13 June 2024 (8/10)

The house is in a very good location

What could be improved: The area can be a bit noisy

  • Vasundhara from India – 29 April 2024 (9/10)

Very centrally located in the Old Town, Kaleiçi.
Beautiful house. Felt like a home away from home.

What could be improved: There is a club right opposite the property. That sometimes can get really loud. Particularly on weekends.
