Lucky Monkey Hotel Overview
You know what? The Lucky Monkey Hotel is one of those places that doesn’t fit into neat categories, and honestly, that’s exactly why it works. Tucked away on 1470. Sokak in Antalya’s quieter residential area, it’s the kind of boutique spot that doesn’t bother with official star ratings because — well, it doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. When I first walked up to the entrance, I wasn’t even sure I was in the right place. The building has this understated charm that’s easy to miss if you’re expecting flashy hotel signage, but once you’re inside, you get it.
The location is actually pretty clever. You’re far enough from the tourist madness of Kaleiçi that you can sleep without hearing drunk British tourists singing at 3am (trust me on this one), but close enough that a quick dolmuş ride gets you anywhere you want to go. The neighborhood feels genuinely Turkish — there’s a family-run bakery two streets over where the börek is ridiculous, and you’ll hear the call to prayer echoing off the apartment buildings in the morning. It’s real Antalya life, not the sanitized resort version. The hotel itself has maybe fifteen rooms, I’d guess? Each one feels different, like someone actually thought about the space instead of just ordering identical furniture from a catalog. My room had these hand-painted tiles in the bathroom that caught the light just right in the afternoons, and the bed — honestly, I slept better there than I have in some five-star places. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in summer), and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like it does in half the places around here.
What really sold me on this place though is how the staff treats you. They’re not hovering around trying to upsell you tours or restaurant recommendations with obvious kickback arrangements. Instead, they’ll casually mention that the fish market is best visited before 9am, or that Thursday evenings there’s live music at this tiny meyhane that tourists never find. It’s the difference between feeling like a guest versus feeling like a walking wallet. The common areas have this lived-in quality — mismatched vintage furniture, books left behind by previous guests, plants that someone actually waters. You might find yourself chatting with other travelers over Turkish coffee in the morning, which sounds cheesy but somehow isn’t. I mean, it’s not party central by any stretch, but it attracts interesting people who chose this place deliberately. If you’re looking for a pool bar and evening entertainment program, look elsewhere. But if you want to experience Antalya like someone who actually lives here — well, the Lucky Monkey gets that balance right.

Reviews of Lucky Monkey Hotel
Oleksandra from UK Virgin Islands – 7 May 2025 (9/10)
The location was very convenient — you could easily get to the sea or the city centre. The staff there were amazing. they helped us a lot and were all so friendly! A special thanks to the guy at reception — he was an absolutely lovely person. The food was great as well; I fell in love with Turkish breakfast.

what a nice feeling this place has the theme is funky
the outside terrace bar restaurant is fantastic with the log burners and the food was always very tasty
staff all really nice an attentive
What could be improved: the location is not the best as it is quite a walk to anywhere the taxis are cheap enough though so maybe thats not a negativeFilip from North Macedonia – 14 December 2024 (9/10)
The sea view from the room was exceptional! The room was clean and preheated in December. The bed was very comfortable. The toilet was modern including toiletries and towels were changed every day. Hot water available all the time. The food was tasty and extensive. The breakfast was same every day, but the dinner was different. For dinner you get soup, salad, main course and dessert. The free transfer to the airport was on time. Friendly cats waiting to be pet all around, especially the white one. 😀
What could be improved: The blanket was too small for two people on one bed, although maybe if we asked we would have get another one. Also the food was not a la carte, but it was only one meal and you can't choose – you eat what is prepared for that day. Beside this, although for breakfast you get water and tea, for dinner you don't get any drinks included in the price, not even water.Imraan from South Africa – 31 August 2024 (8/10)
The Private access beach area is wonderful. You get a towel and sunbed to enjoy the facilities. The traditional turkish breakfast which is served was so delicious and amazing. I liked that the area was quiet with a decent 35 minute walk to Old Town.
What could be improved: The hotel could do with a little touch up of maintenance. It's nothing non liveable but my room could have done with a fresh paint. If you look closely you can see the wear and tear.Raed from Saudi Arabia – 10 August 2024 (9/10)
location by an amazing sea.
staff are helpful and friendly
view was stunning over the sea
What could be improved: isolation is weak, you can hear sound of dogs outside in the middle of yhe night while sleeping.
nothing major.Ahmad from Saudi Arabia – 2 June 2024 (8/10)
View was nice and the place is different in terms of vibes and style
What could be improved: To be honest it was great and the place was nice,
Windows needs to be cleaned so the view appears even better
The staff were nice but they clean in morning hours when we were asleepLaborde from United Kingdom – 10 October 2023 (9/10)
The location and the food
What could be improved: The bathroom door stop needs to be relocated. It is a tripping hazard.Jade from United Kingdom – 8 August 2023 (9/10)
Room spacious and a perfect view to the sea! Will return definitely staff took good care.
Mohamed from Netherlands – 2 July 2023 (9/10)
I booked this hotel for a night while in transit. the service was great. a perfect reflection of Turkish hospitality is showcased here. At check in I was welcomed with a Turkish tea in the lobby while my luggage was taken to my room. The ladies at the reception spoke fluently english. When I was in my room the staff knocked on my door with wine, delicious fruits, almonds and chocolate from the house. just great experience overall. very hygienic rooms as well. The terrace has a great view of the sea and toros mountains. also plenty of restaurants and coffee shops on walking distance.
What could be improved: Improvement points:
– the rooms are not soundproof enough. I could hear other guests in their rooms and staff in the hall. I also had a very difficult time sleeping because the music in the lobby was very loud and didn’t turn off until 2 am and was turned on again at 5 am. I wasn’t rested enough unfortunately.
– the wifi isn’t great either.Jason from South Africa – 31 May 2023 (9/10)
everything!
What could be improved: There is nothing not to like here!
