You know what struck me first about MARİA House? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street – 1291. Sokak – where you actually hear birds in the morning instead of tour buses rumbling past. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s not fancy or anything, but there’s something genuinely refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a neighborhood guesthouse than a typical hotel. The building itself is pretty standard for Antalya – that classic Turkish apartment block style with the Elmas apartment complex housing the hotel on the fourth floor. Honestly, the first time I visited, I walked past it twice because the signage is pretty subtle, but once you know where it is, that discrete entrance actually becomes a plus.

The thing about this place is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually get some decent sleep. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from the old town walls, and I’ve done that walk plenty of times – it’s mostly flat, which your feet will thank you for after spending the day exploring Kaleiçi’s cobblestone streets. The family running the place (and yes, it definitely feels family-run) seems to know every shortcut and hole-in-the-wall restaurant in the area. They pointed me toward this little lokanta around the corner that I never would have found otherwise – the kind of place where locals actually eat, not just tourists.

Look, with a 7.4 rating, you’re not walking into the Ritz, but honestly, that’s part of what works here. The rooms are clean and functional – nothing Instagram-worthy, but the AC works well (crucial in Antalya summers), and the beds are actually comfortable. I’ve stayed in plenty of higher-rated places where you’re paying for marble lobbies but sleeping on mattresses that feel like cardboard. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to upload photos or need to stay connected. What really sold me, though, was how quiet it gets at night – this residential area doesn’t have the bars and clubs that keep you up until 3 AM like some of the more central hotels. You get the sound of life happening around you during the day, but by evening it settles into this peaceful rhythm that actually lets you recharge. For a 3-star place, MARİA House delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not – and in a city where tourism can feel pretty overwhelming, that kind of authenticity is worth more than fancy amenities you’ll barely use anyway.

  Location is great, beds were comfortable, lots of space in the apartment.
  
  What could be improved: Lots of broken things – TV remote, Aircon remote, washing machine, light bulbs, lamp shades, balcony doors. Also there were problems when checking in.

  The location of the property is perfect for a city break. Near the marina, old city and city centre. Tram line just outside and mall within walking distance
  
  What could be improved: The property could do with decoration. The facilities are very basic. If u plan to be out all day and only sleep then its fine but if u want to cook for yourself then kitchen defo needs an upgrade

  It is good place .. very good location .. very good apartment … not larg but not that small … good furnitures and helpfull staff
  
  What could be improved: Very bad stairs .. if yoy have car dont stay here … no parking at all .. and if u find a place u will be charge ..no free parking there … very tight street for a car .. this place is perfect for walking only

  The location is the best part of the property. It’s an ideal place to be. It was small and cozy and all the basics were functioning well.
  
  What could be improved: We didn’t have daily cleaning. We were there for four days and there was no cleaning done on a single day. We did it ourselves after second day.

  Position of appartement is good, in the heart of old town even if sometimes is a bit noisy by night

  In appartements are available only towels the rest you have to take your own for your hygiene
  Other items like fan, iron are there.
  
  I would suggest to offer to guests at least some welcome items like tea/coffe/few bottles of water, map of the city

  – [ ] Elif (host) is always around to help. Despite hardly speaking any English Every time we messaged her for something she was at our apartment within 5 mins. She also helped us buy our bus ticket and waited for the bus driver to explain to him where our destination was.

  – [ ] Shower temperature is intermittent hot and cold. You move it slightly and temperature changes so drastically.

  – [ ] No toaster or microwave
  
  – [ ] Need to bring your own matches to light the stove
  
  – [ ] Not enough glasses/mugs for family of 5.
  
  – [ ] WiFi is very weak and only generally only available in one room (living room)
