Marka Hotel Overview
So here’s the thing about Marka Hotel – it’s tucked away in this quiet residential pocket of Elmalı Mahallesi, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking for it. Which is actually kind of perfect, because once you’re inside, it feels like you’ve stumbled onto something the guidebooks haven’t caught up with yet. The building itself has this understated charm that’s hard to pin down – it’s not trying to be anything flashy, just sort of… authentically itself, you know?
I mean, let’s be real about the 7.2 rating – that’s solidly good without being perfect, and after staying there, I get it. The rooms have character (some might say quirks), and the staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, even if everything doesn’t always run with Swiss precision. What really got me was how they’ve managed to create this intimate atmosphere without feeling cramped. The common areas have this lived-in quality that makes you want to actually hang out there instead of just rushing through to your room. And the neighborhood itself? Well, you’re far enough from the tourist madness of Kaleiçi that you can walk to a local bakery in the morning without fighting through cruise ship crowds, but close enough that a quick dolmuş ride gets you anywhere you need to be.
The thing about boutique places like this – and Marka definitely earns that label – is that they either nail the personal touch or they come off trying too hard. This one nails it. During my stay, the front desk guy (I think his name was Mehmet?) actually remembered I was looking for a good place to watch the sunset and mentioned this little spot near Karaalioğlu Park that even some locals don’t know about. You know what I mean? It’s those random moments of genuine helpfulness that stick with you. Sure, the WiFi can be spotty on the upper floors, and the hot water takes a minute to kick in, but somehow those minor inconveniences feel like part of the experience rather than deal-breakers. Plus, parking is actually manageable here – there’s street parking that doesn’t require a degree in engineering to navigate, which anyone who’s driven in Antalya will appreciate. If you’re looking for cookie-cutter luxury, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want somewhere with personality that feels connected to the actual city rather than floating above it in tourist bubble land, Marka Hotel delivers on that promise.

its situated in the main town and near the old town. transport access and access to shopping easy.
staff was very good and pleasant and available all the time for help. they can speak english and able to communicate with them. good break fast. they were helpful to arrange trips and taxi
What could be improved: room was small for 4 people, but able to manage it. Didnt have hot water boiling facility at room so need to go down all the time to get hot water.Kawthar from Netherlands – 15 August 2024 (7/10)
The owner was exceptionally nice and welcoming. He did his best to make our stay comfortable

as for me, the most important there is location, you are at downtown, and you have free and fast access. The price worths it
What could be improved: sometimes is twas difficult to explain to the staff some things, because of the language barrier ( they know english poorly )Catherine from United States – 13 February 2024 (8/10)
Clean, quiet, nice helpful staff and great location.
What could be improved: The bathrooms have a connected vent and I didn’t like getting my neighbor’s heavy smoking.Karma from United Kingdom – 17 September 2023 (6/10)
It’s cheap and affordable. You get what you pay for – AC, room, toilet, all that. Close to the tram so you can get here from the airport directly if trams are running. Rooms are as shown. I would come again but book tours separately or shop around and bargain a LOT!
What could be improved: FOREIGNERS: be careful about booking tours through them. We booked a combo rafting tour and was given only 3/5 of the promised activities. We paid about 14 quid each more than an English couple we met on that tour.
Also make sure to demand exactly what you need as they will try to sell more stuff to you on the tour.
>about tours because they don’t tell you this<
Rafting – bring shoes, no flip flops or open footwear! Water shoes optional only!
Buggy/quad bike – bring sunglasses and bandana for dust. Don’t buy them. They charge 5 euros for it together and you’ll never use it again.
Included lunch – abysmal tbh. Make sure to bring your own snacks and drinks.Edith from South Africa – 14 August 2023 (8/10)

Imtiaz from Norway – 24 June 2023 (8/10)
friendly reception
clean though modest facilities . location cannot be beaten , next to tram stop and shopping mall Mark Antalya which is adorable . Also just few minutes from clock tower , kaleci .
What could be improved: rooms are not sound proof so u hear all from other rooms . Some guests are too loud or shouting late night or early morning which may make you sleepless .
They do have a newly renovated sitting lounge with a TV which is good . Also a kitchen type room without any amenities . Few glasses , a new hot water kettle will be appreciated !
