Mediterra Art Hotel Antalya Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Mediterra Art Hotel? I was expecting another generic boutique place in Kaleiçi, but this little spot on Zafer Sokak actually has some personality. The building itself is this restored Ottoman house – and I mean properly restored, not the half-hearted job you see at some places. When you walk through those narrow cobblestone streets (honestly, good luck with wheeled luggage), you almost miss the entrance because it blends right into the historic neighborhood.

The art thing isn’t just a marketing gimmick either. There’s actual local artwork scattered throughout, and the owner – this friendly Turkish guy who speaks surprisingly good English – told me most pieces are from Antalya artists. The rooms are small but thoughtfully done, with these beautiful arched windows that look out over the maze of Kaleiçi’s rooftops. Fair warning though: if you’re looking for a massive bathroom or expecting hotel chain consistency, this isn’t your place. It’s more like staying in someone’s well-decorated home, which honestly I found charming after a few days of soulless beach resorts.

Location-wise, you’re literally in the heart of old town – I could stumble to Hadrian’s Gate in about three minutes, and the harbor with all those restaurant boats is maybe a five-minute walk downhill. The downside of being so central is that it can get pretty lively at night, especially during summer when the streets fill with tourists until late. But here’s the thing: by October the crowds thin out significantly, and you get this magical feeling of having discovered some secret corner of the Mediterranean. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – they sent me to this tiny lokanta around the corner where I had the best pide of my trip, place I never would’ve found otherwise.

Is it perfect? Well, the 7.3 rating probably tells you it’s not luxury, and honestly that’s fair. The WiFi can be spotty, breakfast is pretty basic, and don’t expect concierge-level service. But if you want to feel like you’re actually staying somewhere with character rather than just passing through another hotel, Mediterra delivers on that front. Plus, you’re paying a fraction of what those big resort hotels charge, and you’re actually in Antalya rather than some sterile tourist bubble outside the city.

Reviews of Mediterra Art Hotel Antalya

  • Maha from Germany – 29 January 2025 (8/10)

Friendly stuff, good location , tasty and rich breakfast. Our room was spacious with a nice pool view.

What could be improved: Loud music every night till arround midnight and that's when we would be able to sleep. It was not summer and i think it is too much. To be honest it was nice turkish music.

  • Barbara from United Kingdom – 13 October 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: No sunbeds around the pool

  • Ryannomad from United States – 14 September 2024 (8/10)

    location was fantastic

What could be improved: room was pretty small but doable for a quick stay

  • Tory from Belgium – 14 August 2024 (8/10)

Location was amazing! very close to many shops, restaurants, the port, and the main road, everything in walking distance. The breakfast was great, every room had AC, the pool was extremely clean, and staff was very friendly!

What could be improved: Be aware that the area is a more of a lively area at night and that the hotel also has a public restaurant. Every evening the hotel eating area is open to the public and there is live music until midnight. With the live music and DJ's it is very loud at night. If you are young and want to have fun its great, but if you have a family or like to sleep early then its not the place for you. The wifi is very slow and the staff don't speak good english making it hard to communicate anything to them or ask questions.

Also! I forgot to mention but do not trust the airport shuttle. On the booking page its listed that an airport shuttle is available, however when you ask about it they either deny they have one or try to over charge you. Take a taxi from the airport much more reliable and cheap. If anyone asks more than 20 euros for a ride its a scam.

  • Frostie from United Kingdom – 21 April 2024 (7/10)

    Location was ideal 👌

What could be improved: Some staff were rude , they were arguing amongst themselves at times not very professional

  • Khululwa from United Arab Emirates – 29 March 2024 (8/10)

The lady at the reception is extremely helpful and amazing.

  • Alison from United Kingdom – 12 November 2023 (8/10)

Lovely hotel in a good central location in the old town. Nice restaurant with good food and live Turkish music. Popular with locals.

What could be improved: Loud music late at night, both from the in-house restaurant (maybe not every night) and from neighbouring bars / clubs. Not a problem if you are joining in!
Breakfast was one Turkish platter with no other options. It would be good to offer a choice of eggs, for example, which would satisfy the non-Turkish traveller, which most places do these days.

  • David from United Kingdom – 6 October 2023 (8/10)

Friendly and really helpful staff. Very accommodating to any problems.

  • Yogie from South Africa – 9 May 2023 (8/10)

Location great, close to main streets, close walk to Port, and bus, tram n restaurants all close by. The hotel has one too, but we didn't get to try ii as we returned very late at night from touring , but it was busy both nights so it has to be good. Live music played at premises, cool for young people, oldies to get ear plugs lol. Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean, neat. No water supplied by hotel, though rooms have full stock of cold drinks n water which is charged to room if u use it. Breakfast was simple turkish options served to you. Fresh and well served.
Thank you for the pleasant stay.

What could be improved: That there was no free water or tea and coffee in the rooms like all the other hotels we stayed at.

  • Md from United Kingdom – 24 October 2022 (8/10)

The location. and interior both were good

What could be improved: the staffs can be a little more professional
