Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked down Tabakhane Sokak looking for the Minyon Hotel, I almost missed it completely. The entrance is tucked into this narrow cobblestone street in Kaleiçi’s maze-like old quarter, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. You know those places that feel like a local secret? This is one of them.

The thing about staying here is that you’re literally inside Antalya’s historic heart – I mean, you can hear the call to prayer echoing off the ancient walls in the morning, and the smell of Turkish coffee drifts up from the little café next door around 8 AM like clockwork. The hotel itself doesn’t have an official star rating (it’s one of those unique boutique places that just does its own thing), but with a 9.1 rating, they’re clearly doing something right. What struck me most was how the staff actually remembered my name after the first day – not in that forced, corporate way, but genuinely. The owner, or maybe the manager, would chat with me about which restaurants to hit in the evening, and he steered me toward this incredible fish place down by the harbor that I never would’ve found otherwise.

The rooms have this authentic Ottoman-meets-modern vibe that could easily feel gimmicky, but somehow doesn’t. Mine had these beautiful arched windows that looked out onto the narrow street below, and yes, you’ll hear some street noise – it’s the old city, after all – but it dies down after 10 PM when the last tour groups head back to their big resort hotels. Actually, that’s when Kaleiçi gets really magical. You can walk to Hadrian’s Gate in about three minutes, and the marina is maybe a five-minute stroll downhill. The ancient Roman harbor comes alive at sunset, and you’ll find yourself taking the same evening walk every night because, well, why wouldn’t you?

Parking can be a bit tricky since you can’t drive directly to the hotel (old city, narrow streets), but they’ve got arrangements with a lot nearby, and the staff will help you figure it out. What really won me over, though, was the little courtyard where they serve breakfast – it’s this peaceful spot where you can actually hear birds chirping despite being in the center of everything. The breakfast itself is proper Turkish fare, not some international buffet nonsense, and the fresh bread alone made getting up early worth it. If you’re looking for a massive pool or a spa, this isn’t your place. But if you want to feel like you’re staying in someone’s beautifully restored historic home while being walking distance from some of Turkey’s most incredible ancient sites, then honestly, I can’t think of anywhere better in Antalya.

  Very cute place and the stuff was extraordinary helpful and beyond nice. We had an apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms a living room with a balcony and a kitchen. We also had a washing machine that was a must for us.
  The breakfast was really good and the cats made the place better 😀
  We will be back for sure since we had a very pleasant stay. We recommend this place, it is indeed a 10 out of 10 place.

  The location is superb, in close proximity to the market and restaurents.. The staff were all amazing and very friendly.. We booked the villa which was spacious, well equipped and very clean.
  
  What could be improved: The last day we moved to a 2 bedroom apartment, a bigger seating couch would have been favorable.

  Excellent location, friedly staff, good breakfast, cleaning room every day. The pool is though small, but very clean.
  
  What could be improved: There is no table in the room. There are tables in the garden and on the terrace, but in July it is too hot to seet there. However, this is the only negative thing I noticed

  Comfortable stay, the apartments were ideal for us and the staff was extremely helpful. I'd say this was more close to a bnb stay than a hotel which wasn't a problem for us. Breakfast was minimal but good. Location was very central and overall would recommend.
  
  What could be improved: Only negative was that i forgot my swim shorts outside on our balcony and left my vape in it's pocket. Later when i realized only a few hours after checking out, I called to ask and they informed me that the cleaning staff had unknowingly discarded the shorts. They did apologize but I found that quite weird and slightly upsetting, despite a fantastic stay otherwise.

  I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fantastic experience.
