There’s this mix of Ottoman-inspired touches and modern comfort that actually works, unlike some places that try too hard with the Turkish theme. The bed is surprisingly good quality, and the air conditioning runs quiet, which matters because summer nights in Antalya can be brutal. What really sold me though was stepping out onto that top-floor terrace in the morning with Turkish coffee – you can hear the call to prayer echoing off Hadrian’s Gate, smell the simit vendors setting up down near the harbor, and watch cruise ship passengers getting their first taste of the old town chaos. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure (always a gamble in historic buildings).

Here’s the thing about staying right in Kaleiçi – you’re literally living inside a piece of history, but that comes with trade-offs. The streets get pretty lively at night, especially during peak season when the restaurant terraces are packed and street musicians are working the crowds near Kesik Minare. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs, though honestly the energy is part of the charm. You can walk to everything that matters – the old harbor is maybe three minutes downhill, Mermerli Beach is right there when you need to cool off, and you’re close enough to duck into Şarampol Caddesi for some serious local eating without dealing with the touristy spots near the clock tower. Parking is basically impossible right at the hotel, but there’s a decent lot about a five-minute walk away near the main entrance to the old town. The owners seem to actually care about the place – they’ll point you toward the good breakfast spots and steer you away from the obvious tourist traps, which is worth more than any fancy lobby. For what you pay, especially if you book during shoulder season, it’s honestly hard to beat if you want to feel like you’re staying in old Antalya rather than just visiting it.
