You know what caught me off guard about REGA OTEL? It’s tucked away on this quiet side street – 470. Sokak – which honestly doesn’t sound like much when you’re booking online, but it’s actually perfect. I mean, you’re still right in the heart of Antalya, but you escape all that tourist chaos that makes some hotels feel like you’re sleeping inside a travel brochure. The first time I walked up, I wasn’t sure if I’d found the right place because it has this understated entrance that doesn’t scream “look at me” like so many four-star places do.

What really sold me on this spot was how the staff seemed to actually know their city – not just the obvious tourist traps everyone recommends. The guy at reception (wish I remembered his name) gave me directions to this little tea house that locals hang out at, and he was spot-on about which times to avoid the old town if you don’t want to fight through cruise ship crowds. The rooms are clean and comfortable without being flashy, and honestly, the air conditioning works better than some five-star places I’ve stayed at in Turkey. You can actually sleep without that constant hum keeping you up, which – let’s be real – matters more than fancy marble bathrooms when it’s 35 degrees outside.

The neighborhood itself is sort of this perfect middle ground between authentic Antalya life and tourist convenience. There’s a little market just down the street where you can grab fresh fruit and actual Turkish coffee (not that instant stuff), and you’re close enough to walk to Kaleiçi when you want that postcard-perfect old town experience. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re renting a car – the streets are narrow and you might end up circling the block a few times – but there’s usually something within a couple blocks. I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and the whole area felt relaxed and manageable. Can’t speak to what it’s like in peak summer madness, but I suspect it stays pretty chill since it’s not right on the main tourist strips. The 8.8 rating makes sense to me because it’s one of those places that just does everything competently without any major surprises, good or bad. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want – a solid base where you can actually relax instead of dealing with hotel drama while you’re trying to explore a new city.

  The location of the hotel is very good, close to the beach but also to a bus stop, so it is not a problem to get to the city centre. The hotel itself is simple but good, the room was quite big. The staff was nice and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The water heating system was not working properly, it was either boiling hot or cold.
  It would be great if there was juice at the breakfast, and sometimes tea was gone before the end of the breakfast time.
  A small lamp at the bed table would also be appreciated.
  And as long as I do not require everyday cleaning, an additional toilet paper roll is something that I would expect.

  The 2 guys on Reception were exceptional and went the extra mile to my needs.
  
  What could be improved: The only criticism was the aircon unit although it was set at 30 degees it was not warm in the room especially as it was the Winter time, however, it was mentioned that this was the first Winter the hotel was open and changes will be made for next year.

  The owner and staff are very nice. There are issues like sewage smell from one of the washrooms during rainy season. We could put up with it since we were out most of the times and kept the bathroom door locked when we were there. Antalya uses solar energy for heating water. So during winter you should just ask the staff or the owner. They start the electric heater. They arranged our breakfast every night since we left before their breakfast time every morning. The room was cleaned after 2 days of stay. We all felt that Rega Otel is pretty nice for the price you pay. If you face any kind of issue all you need to do is ask the owner.
  
  What could be improved: The sewage smell from the toilet in one of the washrooms. Maybe not something they can control. The receptionist did offer giving something to get rid of the smell but he forgot and so did we.

  Great location close to the beach , bonus bike hiring as courtesy of hotel. Very friendly staff . All was good , very pleasant stay . Hotel is well looked after . Everything is in good working order. We did enjoy our stay. Highly recommend
  
  What could be improved: Nothing. Just a small suggestion to have a hot fried egg with sausage or chips would make a big difference for breakfast.

  The staff are just great, they are very helpful and friendly and always willing to advise with whatever you need. I couldn't have a better stay and I'd definitely recommend this place.

  Location is great – close to the sea, close to many restaurants. Rooms are also comfortable for short staying.
  
  What could be improved: Just wanted to mention for elderly people – there are rooms on different levels and there is no elevator.

  We had a lovely stay at the hotel during our visit. The location is quite good 5 min walk to the beach, local transport available nearby. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. Clean and spacious rooms apart from the tiny washroom nothing to complain about. Loads of restaurants and cafes nearby. The owner was very helpful sharing various details I requested. Overall a pleasant stay.
  
  What could be improved: The washroom was very tiny with the shower and toilet squished together. Also there is no lift in the hotel.
