Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Retro Star Suites on 414. Sokak, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But man, sometimes you get pleasantly surprised. The building has this charming throwback vibe (hence the name, I guess) without being cheesy about it, and the staff at check-in actually seemed genuinely happy to see me rather than just going through the motions.

What really won me over was how they’ve managed to nail the details that most places overlook. The rooms are spotless – I mean, really clean in a way that makes you think someone’s grandmother is running quality control. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and you know what? The air conditioning actually works properly, which if you’ve spent any time in Antalya during summer, you’ll appreciate. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet, especially compared to the tourist chaos closer to Kaleiçi. You’re far enough from the main drag that you can actually sleep with the windows open some nights, but close enough that a quick dolmuş ride gets you anywhere you want to go. There’s a little bakery two blocks down that opens early – perfect for grabbing fresh simit before the day gets too hot.

Here’s the thing that really gets me about this place – they’ve somehow managed to earn a 9.8 rating, and after staying there, I actually get it. It’s not trying to be fancy or pretentious. Instead, it’s just… well, it’s just really good at being what it is. The showers have proper water pressure (seriously, why is this so rare?), the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the little touches like decent coffee in the lobby and clean towels that don’t smell like industrial bleach make all the difference. I even noticed they keep the common areas at a reasonable temperature – not arctic blast cold like some places think tourists want. The location puts you in a real neighborhood where you’ll hear Turkish conversations instead of just tourist chatter, but you’re still only about ten minutes from the old town when you want to dive into the historical stuff or hit up those rooftop restaurants everyone talks about.

  Прекрасные новые апартаменты. Просторные номера, стильный дизайн и в целом концепция отеля понравилась, есть все необходимое. Удобное расположение, рядом пляж, кафе, магазины. Приветливый персонал, всегда на связи по любым вопросам. Планировала остановиться на одну ночь, в итоге осталась на три. Возможно кому-то принципиально тишина, имейте ввиду, что расположение отеля не совсем в тихом месте, утром и днем тихо, вечером слышно живую музыку из бара, но лично мне это не мешало.

  It was amazing. It is a new concept hotel. I stayed in Madonna Room, everything was great, staff was super helpfull and friendly. Location is very close to The Konyaaltı Beach. There are many options for pubs and restaurants arround hotel. I will prefer in next future.
