You know what’s funny about Sabah Pansiyon? I almost walked right past it the first time I was looking for the place. It’s tucked away on this narrow little street called Hesapci Sokak in the heart of Kaleiçi, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. The whole area feels like you’ve stepped back in time – I mean, you’re literally walking on stones that have been there for centuries, surrounded by Ottoman-era houses with their wooden balconies practically touching each other overhead.

The pansiyon itself sits in one of these restored old houses, and the owner clearly put some thought into keeping the character intact. You’ll notice the traditional stone walls and wooden beams right away, but it’s not one of those places trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect, if you know what I mean. It actually feels lived-in and comfortable. The rooms are pretty straightforward – nothing fancy, but clean and surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the middle of the old town. I was worried about noise since Kaleiçi can get pretty lively, especially during summer evenings when the restaurants fill up, but the thick walls do their job well. The courtyard is where I ended up spending most of my time though – there’s something really peaceful about having your morning coffee surrounded by bougainvillea while you can hear the call to prayer echoing off the ancient walls nearby.

What I really appreciated was how the staff actually knew their neighborhood. The guy at reception (I think he might be the owner’s son) gave me directions to this tiny bakery about two streets over that I never would have found otherwise, and he was spot-on about which hamam was worth visiting versus the tourist traps. Location-wise, you’re maybe a five-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate and the marina, but here’s the thing – you’re far enough from the main drag that you don’t get the constant stream of tour groups walking by. Parking is basically impossible right at the hotel, but there’s a lot about ten minutes away if you’re driving. Most people just walk everywhere once they’re in Kaleiçi anyway. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury, but it gets the fundamentals right and gives you that authentic old Antalya experience without breaking the bank. If you’re the type who values location and character over having a pool and room service, this place definitely delivers on what it promises.

  What could be improved: I didn’t like the bathroom. There is mould inside the shower and the whole bathroom is very outdated and small. However it serves it’s purpose and it’s comfortable to use

  It s truly a perfect value for money, not so long fron Mermerli beach and right in the main street. Cozy pool, a room with all that s needed and 5 towels! A fridge, well functioning shower and conditioner that saves lives in 40 C.
  I liked the owner, he was helpful and nice.
  
  What could be improved: Cleaners should take a look at the mayrass and swipe it with a wet tissue, for there was a lot of hair, and I am not the pickiest! Tell your boys that if a woman comes back home at night from a party its not an occasion to knock on the door and offer "help".

  The two bedroomed house was excellent. The kitchen has a big fridge freezer and an oven and hob. Utensils, plates, and glasses, etc.
  There are two tvs with cable and even a games consul. It also has a selection of books for your pleasure. The terrace is lovely.

  It was right in the centre of town, and I love that. Nice people at reception and a nice swimming pool and breakfast. I enjoyed my stay a lot.
