Sibel Hotel Overview

You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Antalya over the years, but Sibel Hotel is one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street called Firin Sokak – honestly, if you’re not looking for it, you’ll walk right past. But that’s exactly what makes it perfect.

The thing about staying in Kaleici is that most places are either touristy knockoffs or they’re so authentically Ottoman that your back hurts from the antique beds. Sibel somehow nails that sweet spot between character and comfort. The building itself has that weathered stone look that screams old Antalya, but inside – well, someone clearly knew what they were doing with the renovation. The rooms aren’t huge (I mean, we’re talking about a historic district where buildings are literally centuries old), but everything feels thoughtfully designed. My room had these gorgeous arched windows that opened right onto the street, and honestly, the sound of people walking on cobblestones became kind of soothing after the first night.

What really got me was how the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood. Not just the obvious stuff like where Hadrian’s Gate is – everyone knows that – but they pointed me toward this little tea garden that I never would have found on my own, just a few minutes’ walk away. And when I mentioned I was looking for a good place to watch the sunset without the crowds at the harbor, they suggested this spot near the old city walls that was absolutely perfect. The breakfast spread was another pleasant surprise – lots of local stuff, really good olives and cheese, and the bread was clearly from somewhere nearby because it was still warm most mornings. They serve it in this little courtyard that catches the morning light just right.

Location-wise, you’re literally in the heart of old town, which means you can stumble back from dinner without worrying about taxis or anything. But here’s the thing nobody tells you – Kaleici can get pretty lively at night, especially on weekends. The hotel’s set back enough from the main restaurant strips that it’s not overwhelming, but you’ll definitely hear some activity. Personally, I found it added to the atmosphere, but if you’re a really light sleeper, maybe pack some earplugs. Parking is basically non-existent on the street (like, forget about it), but there’s a public lot about a five-minute walk away that’s not too expensive.

The whole place just feels authentic in a way that’s hard to fake – probably because it actually is. The family running it has been in the hospitality business for decades, and it shows in all those little touches that make a difference. Fresh towels that actually smell good, really solid WiFi, and they keep the common areas clean without being obsessive about it. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was experiencing real Antalya rather than just passing through it.

Reviews of Sibel Hotel

  • Maxime from France – 29 May 2025 (10/10)

Everything was near to perfect. The location is perfect in Antalya old town. The staff and especially the owner is lovely and so kind. Breakfast was the best surprise as it was delicious.

  • Joan from United Kingdom – 29 May 2025 (10/10)

Everything. It’s a beautiful old Byzantine house in the heart of Kaleiçi. The breakfast ıs lavish and even offers fine filter coffee, a rare treat in most hotels here. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I’ve been returning here for 25 years and it’s always a joy to be back.

What could be improved: Nothing. It’s the best.

  • Lida from South Africa – 27 May 2025 (10/10)

The location is great. Very central in the old city and close to restaurants and shops. My room was spacious and clean, looking out on the beautiful courtyard. Friendly staff and a scrumptious breakfast.

We felt like home there. Silvie and her family did above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The homemade breakfast served on the patio was delicious and different every morning.
The location couldn’t be better – in a heart of the old town, yet very quiet at night.
We enjoyed our stay very much!

  • Gaunt from Australia – 14 May 2025 (10/10)

What a glorious place, the location was great right in the heart of the old city with few minute walk to beautiful coast line views and many restaurant's. The owner was a lovely lady, who made every effort to attend to your smallest needs. My wife had injured her foot and this lady moved us to a different room and lent us a wheel chair to get her around in for the 3 days. A hand crafted beautiful breakfast was served in a lovely court yard each day. There was nothing not to like about this hotel.

  • D from France – 10 May 2025 (10/10)

The staff and owner were very helpful and sweet for our 12 day stay. The location is perfect to explore all around Antalya.

  • Soubhik from India – 8 May 2025 (10/10)

It’s better than in the pictures, the owner is the sweetest lady, and it’s in an excellent location. It felt like home.
