You know what caught me off guard about Sofa Hotels Kaleiçi? I was expecting another cookie-cutter boutique place, but this spot actually has some soul to it. It’s tucked away on Hesapçı Sokak – honestly, you’ll probably walk past it twice before you find the entrance, which is sort of perfect because it means you’re really in the heart of old Antalya’s maze-like streets. The building itself has that weathered stone look that screams authentic Ottoman architecture, not the fake stuff they throw up for tourists.

The thing about staying here is you’re literally inside Kaleiçi’s walls, which means you can stumble out your door and be at those Instagram-famous harbor views in about three minutes. But here’s what the photos don’t tell you – mornings are magical because most day-trippers haven’t arrived yet, so you get the cobblestone alleys pretty much to yourself with just the sound of shopkeepers opening up and cats doing their morning patrol. The rooms themselves feel more like staying in someone’s carefully curated home than a hotel. I mean, they’ve got this mix of modern comfort with traditional Turkish touches that doesn’t feel forced – thick stone walls keep things cool even when it’s blazing outside, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many boutique places skimp on mattresses).

What really sold me though was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood. When I mentioned wanting to find good künefe that wasn’t touristy, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the harbor restaurants – he walked me outside and pointed down a tiny side street I never would’ve found. That 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience little moments like that. The whole area gets pretty lively in the evenings, especially on weekends, but the thick walls keep most of the noise out. Just don’t expect a huge lobby or fancy amenities – this isn’t that kind of place. It’s more about location and character, and honestly, when you’re steps away from Hadrian’s Gate and can walk to Mermerli Beach in five minutes, who needs a pool anyway? If you’re the type who wants to actually experience Antalya’s old city rather than just visit it, this place gets it right.

  Located in the old town, it is a wonderful little hotel with a lovely courtyard for breakfast. The room was well soundproofed, so we were not at all affected by the calls to prayer of the mosque right next door. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were lovely.

  I liked the area, the room and the behaviour of the staffs, it’s top notch. Everything is really really close and you get the vibe of staying in Greece honestly!

  This charming hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Old Town. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it!
