SunAnatolia Otel Overview
Honestly, I almost walked past SunAnatolia Otel the first time I went looking for it — which, in hindsight, is part of its charm. Tucked away on little Imaret Sokak in the heart of Kaleiçi, this place doesn’t need flashy signs or star ratings to make an impression. You know what hit me first? The smell of jasmine mixed with coffee drifting from their courtyard, and this immediate sense that I’d stumbled onto something the cruise ship crowds hadn’t discovered yet. The building itself has that weathered Ottoman elegance you see throughout the old quarter, but someone here actually knows how to restore these places without turning them into theme park versions of themselves. Check-in was refreshingly low-key — no marble lobbies or uniformed staff lined up like soldiers, just genuine people who seemed to actually care whether I found the place okay.
What makes SunAnatolia work is how it sits in the neighborhood rather than trying to dominate it. My room had these thick stone walls that kept things surprisingly quiet, even though you’re literally in the middle of everything. I mean, step outside and you’re maybe two minutes from Hadrian’s Gate, and the harbor’s right there with all those restaurants where locals actually eat (not just the tourist traps closer to the marina). The rooftop terrace — and this is where they really got it right — faces inland toward the Taurus Mountains instead of fighting for those overcrowded sea views. Sunset up there with a Turkish tea? Pretty hard to beat, especially when you’re not elbow-to-elbow with fifty other people trying to get the same Instagram shot. The rooms themselves feel lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. Good wifi, decent shower pressure, and beds that don’t feel like they came from a budget furniture warehouse. Nothing’s perfect — the AC in my room had this quirky habit of cycling on and off, and parking nearby can be a bit of an adventure during peak season — but honestly, these feel like character traits rather than real problems.
Here’s the thing about staying in Kaleiçi that you won’t really understand until you do it: the neighborhood completely transforms after the day-trippers head back to their resorts. Around sunset, it becomes this completely different place where you’ll hear Turkish families chatting on their balconies and smell dinner cooking from actual homes, not just restaurants. SunAnatolia gets this — they’re not trying to shield you from the real Antalya, they’re helping you access it. The staff knows which hammam won’t fleece tourists, where to get proper Turkish breakfast (hint: not at the hotel), and how to time your visit to Düden Falls to avoid the bus tours. With an 8.4 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after spending four nights there last spring, I’d say that something is simply understanding that travelers want to feel like temporary locals, not pampered prisoners. It’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but it’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay — and actually book the same room for next year.

Reviews of SunAnatolia Otel

Great location if you’re keen to explore the old bazaar, close to lots of shops and restaurants. Room was clean and wifi worked well.
What could be improved: Fitted sheet did not fit the bed properly, kept coming off in the night. Room was a bit dark.Iren from Ireland – 15 October 2024 (8/10)
Great location right in the heart of the old town, The hotel looks lovely and cosy, and the rooms are clean
What could be improved: We didn't have covers on our bed for the night. I'm sure that was a mistake, though, and they forgot to put them in the room 🙂Agata from Poland – 13 October 2024 (7/10)
Location is great, just on the edge of Old Town and 5 min walk from the tram and bus stops. it's quiet enough that you don't hear the street traffic or noise from the bars and restaurants and close enough to walk everywhere.
After staying at several places with shower-over-toilet setup it was nice to have a proper shower cubicle.
Big balcony.
Staff was nice and helpful when they were there.
What could be improved: The main drawback of the location is that it's just across the street from a mosque (our balcony was facing it) so we were woken up by the call of prayer just before dawn every morning. Earlugs didn't help.
Bed is on a firm side. I liked it, my partner found it uncomfortable.
Half the time staff was nowhere to be found.
Balcony was shared with the room next door and sadly they chose to smoke and leave cigarette butts and rubbish on our table. Obviously not the hotel's fault though.Daria from United Arab Emirates – 11 October 2024 (9/10)
The location is perfect. Clean room, good shower. Checked in earlier than I was supposed to. The owner was happy to help with any question I had including laundry late in the evening.
What could be improved: I saw 1 big cockroach in the bathroom. But they said this is how it is in the old town, and it happens at times. Overall, everything was very clean, so I believe it was an accident.Trevor from Canada – 10 October 2024 (9/10)
Location and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Room was good.
Aline from United Kingdom – 17 September 2024 (8/10)
Excellent location in the old town and 5min away from one of the main day tours pickup. The owner at the reception was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We much apprcaitted that the owner accomodated our 2am which turned out to be 3am checkin with no issues.
What could be improved: Nothing i can think about.Deniz from Belgium – 3 September 2024 (9/10)
Close to everything, friendly and helpful staff.

This hotel – is a really hidden gem in its price category in Antalya. Deluxe, comfortable spacious room with big terrace and wonderful view at old Minaret. Friendly and helpful staff. Had very easy and prompt check-in even at 04:00 in the morning.
What could be improved: It would be very kind to offer one small welcoming bottle of drinking water on day of arrival.Wasima from United Kingdom – 2 July 2024 (7/10)
Great location and value for money. Really hospitable host and helped us quite a lot
Bill from Australia – 20 June 2024 (9/10)
Clean room, good bed, good shower, great location, great staff, fabulous location. It is right next to a beautiful old mosque so you do get the call to prayer at 4:30 am but hey, you’re in Turkey and this is common, if you don’t like it, wear earplugs. We didn’t mind it.
What could be improved: Nothing
