You know what surprised me most about this villa? It’s actually tucked away on this tiny cobblestone street in Kaleiçi where you can barely hear the tourist crowds just a few blocks away. I mean, you’re literally staying inside Antalya’s old city walls – the same stones that have been standing here for centuries – but somehow it feels like you’ve got your own private corner of history.

The villa itself is honestly bigger than I expected when I first walked through that traditional wooden door. Seven people sounds ambitious for most places, but this one actually pulls it off without everyone stepping on each other. The rooms have this lovely mix of old-world charm and modern comfort – you’ve got your air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer) but also these beautiful arched windows that catch the Mediterranean breeze perfectly in the evenings. What I really loved was how they kept the original stone walls in some rooms while adding contemporary touches that don’t feel forced or touristy.

The location is honestly unbeatable if you want to experience real Antalya. Mescit Sokak is one of those streets where you’ll still see locals hanging laundry from Ottoman-era balconies, and there’s this incredible bakery just around the corner that opens at 6 AM – the smell of fresh simit will wake you up better than any alarm clock. You can walk to Hadrian’s Gate in about three minutes, and the marina is maybe a seven-minute stroll downhill through these winding alleys lined with bougainvillea. Parking can be a bit tricky (well, it’s basically impossible right at the villa), but there’s a decent lot about a ten-minute walk away, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway.

The 9.7 rating makes total sense when you experience the attention to detail – everything from the Turkish carpets to the way they’ve set up the kitchen with proper local ceramics and decent coffee equipment. The hosts clearly know their stuff and have created something that feels authentically Turkish without being a theme park version of it. During Ramadan, the evening call to prayer echoes beautifully through the old quarter, and you can hear it perfectly from the villa’s terrace – it’s one of those moments that reminds you you’re somewhere truly special.

  We hebben een fantastische tijd gehad in dit vakantiehuis! De hosts waren super behulpzaam en altijd bereikbaar, wat ons verblijf extra relaxed maakte. Het huis was schoon en netjes, en de ruime tuin was perfect om elke ochtend buiten te ontbijten. De locatie is top: dichtbij het strand en de haven, en uiteraard midden in de oude stad, omringd door gezellige restaurants en barretjes. Echt een aanrader voor wie op zoek is naar een comfortabele en sfeervolle plek met alles binnen handbereik. We komen graag nog eens terug!
