TAG Pansiyon Overview

You know what caught me off guard about TAG Pansiyon? It’s tucked away on this narrow side street – Faraçlar Sokak – that you’d honestly miss if you weren’t looking for it, but that’s actually part of its charm. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Kaleiçi, Antalya’s old town, where these Ottoman-era houses lean into each other like they’re sharing secrets. The whole area feels like stepping back in time, except with better wifi and air conditioning.

The thing about TAG is that it doesn’t try to be fancy in that Instagram-perfect way so many boutique places do now. It’s more… authentic, I guess? The owners clearly put thought into preserving the character of this old building while making it comfortable for travelers. You’ll find traditional Turkish carpets on stone floors, and the rooms have this mix of antique furniture and modern touches that somehow works. My room had these thick walls that kept everything surprisingly quiet, which is saying something when you’re this close to the marina action. Actually, speaking of the marina – you can walk to Antalya’s old harbor in about three minutes, and trust me, that’s where you want to be for sunset drinks.

What really sold me on this place was how the staff treated guests like actual people rather than walking credit cards. They gave me restaurant recommendations that weren’t tourist traps (there’s this little lokanta around the corner that serves incredible manti), and when I mentioned wanting to see Hadrian’s Gate, they drew me a route that avoided the crowded main streets. The breakfast situation is pretty solid too – nothing fancy, but fresh bread, local honey, and proper Turkish tea served in those little glasses. Honestly, the 8.4 rating makes sense because while it’s not luxury-level perfect, it’s got that authentic neighborhood feel that’s getting harder to find. The only minor thing I’d mention is that parking can be tricky since you’re in the old town’s narrow streets, but there’s a public lot about a five-minute walk away. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels like a local discovery rather than a hotel chain experience, TAG Pansiyon hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Reviews of TAG Pansiyon

  • Rick from United Kingdom – 10 November 2024 (9/10)

It was spotlessly clean and the host could not do more to make our stay as good as possible – he was excellent contacting us after a couple of nights to check all was ok.. The accommodation is basic, but as described in the listing. The communal areas could be improved a little but do not detract from the stay. The property is exceptional value for money.

What could be improved: We didn't dislike anything as such, but as above the communal area / garden could be better. However, it is a work in progress.

  • Susan from United Kingdom – 22 October 2024 (8/10)

Excellent location in the old town.
    Clean and comfortable room.
The host upgraded us to a bigger room after the first night, without us asking.

What could be improved: We liked everything.

  • Roger from Qatar – 13 September 2024 (8/10)

Very good location in the old town behind the clock tower. The room was comfortable, especially the bed. You have everything you need. It was quiet at night.

What could be improved: The wi- fi was not always reliable. The room isn’t serviced daily.

  • Anastasia from Russia – 27 January 2024 (9/10)

It's a nice small place located in a historic and interesting part of town (but also the shops in this area are way too expensive, so even for water – go a bit further). The owner was very helpful and hospitable.
The bad was big and comfortable to sleep in, overall all the basics were covered.

What could be improved: There's a construction going on in the area – not this hotels fault, just a fact.
Also there's a music at night from the bars nearby and there is no way not to hear it. Again – not the hotels fault.

  • Валерия from Germany – 30 July 2023 (9/10)

We were only for 2 days there, but it was nice and comfortable. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The city center is 5 minutes away by foot, a tram stop – 10 minutes.

What could be improved: The room was quite small, not really comfortable for 2 people, but we were mostly outside, so it wasn’t a problem for us. A beach is also quite close.

  • Sajad from Iraq – 28 July 2023 (9/10)

the owner of hotel is good man help us

  • Kaya from Germany – 28 July 2023 (7/10)

    The room smells like flower

What could be improved: Eventhough rooms are listed as soundproof, they are not. You can easily hear the outside.

  • Edita from Turkey – 15 July 2023 (8/10)

The hotel is located in the centre, in the small street, 10minutes walking from the main tourist attractions. Even the hotel was not fully finished, the room was cozy & spotless. The bed was absolutely comfortable. There were some snacks& water – free of charge, very nice. The owner was very kind an gave me a tip for an interesting place to see.

What could be improved: Everything was ok. Just be aware as the hotel is close to the lively street full of bars, there is a live music until late night …. but the ear plugs is a solution😊

  • Sebastiaan from Netherlands – 10 July 2023 (7/10)

    Very creative hotel

What could be improved: I felt a bit scared of the location

  • Elzbieta from United Kingdom – 9 July 2023 (8/10)

The location was great, close to the old bazaar and other historical sites as well as public transport;with abundance of restaurants and local eateries. Friendly and helpful people. The owner of the hotel went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, making sure I have everything I need.

What could be improved: The only thing I did not like was the rubble and rubbish around the hotel which spoiled the beautiful surroundings. However, the owner reassured me that it is only temporary due to ongoing renovation.
