Tema 242 Hotel Overview
You know what struck me first about Tema 242? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Yeşilbahçe – honestly, I almost walked past it because it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside. But that’s actually part of its charm. The whole place feels more like staying at a really well-designed friend’s house than some generic hotel, which makes sense since it’s one of those boutique spots that deliberately skipped the whole star rating thing.
The location is pretty clever, actually. You’re in a proper neighborhood where locals live and work, not some tourist bubble. There’s a little bakery about two blocks down where the owner still remembers your coffee order after three days, and you can walk to the old town center in maybe fifteen minutes if you don’t mind a bit of uphill. The Yeşilbahçe area itself is sort of having this quiet renaissance – I noticed quite a few young Turkish professionals living around there, which usually means good local restaurants and that authentic neighborhood vibe you can’t fake. Parking was surprisingly easy too, something I definitely wasn’t expecting in Antalya.
What really won me over was how the staff actually seemed to know the city beyond just the standard tourist recommendations. The guy at reception – Mehmet, I think – told me about this incredible fish place down by the marina that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to avoid the cruise ship crowds at the main attractions, he had specific timing suggestions that actually worked. The rooms themselves have this modern-meets-Mediterranean thing going on without being too precious about it. Good air conditioning (crucial in summer, trust me), decent Wi-Fi, and honestly just comfortable in that way where you stop noticing the details because everything works. I mean, it’s not luxury-resort fancy, but it’s thoughtfully done – like someone actually considered how you’d live in the space for a few days rather than just passing through. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me; it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without trying to be something it’s not. If you’re looking for that balance between authentic local experience and actual comfort, Tema 242 hits it pretty well.

Reviews of Tema 242 Hotel
Sara from United Kingdom – 11 February 2025 (9/10)
I liked the views of the sea from the balcony and the restaurant. Also, the staff in the hotel and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: Sometimes the air conditioning engines which were next to the balcony were noisy.Arzu from Turkey – 11 February 2025 (7/10)
The location, the view, the price is all good. The room size is good.

Really helpful and friendly staff, sea view room had a beautiful view and was facing the sun all day, cleaners would clean my room everyday and top it up with water and fresh towels everyday and overall as a solo traveller made me feel safe which is the most important thing
What could be improved: Breakfast selection was big but the dishes were cold most days, still nice though.Donna from United Kingdom – 4 October 2024 (7/10)
We were upgraded to a suite, which was a great room, overlooking pool and sea view, very clean and tidy, lovely pool area, plenty of sun loungers, great location with public beach close, staff friendly, especially the lady working at the poolside bar. The hotel had plenty of restaurants, fast food and shops a short distance away
What could be improved: Breakfast was awful, each day cooked food was cold and burnt. The fire alarm kept going off all times of the day and night, our upgraded room, from deluxe to suite although nice, the balcony was only big enough to stand on – too narrow to put a chair outside. The public beach is just across the walkway and was lovely, the steps up and down are quite steep steps and loungers are chargeable – get there early to get a good spot, also beware as the current is stronger than it looks and being surrounded by rocks and being so deep can be dangerous at times. Some staff can be rude, but there were far more pleasant than unpleasant ones. Make sure you always leave plug in the bath, as after using shower, the smell in the bathroom was disgusting. Very annoying that staff allowed younger guests to control the music played around the pool, the constant clubland classic tunes is not want what all guests wanted to hear on repeat day every single dayLubica from Slovakia – 29 September 2024 (8/10)
Good location, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast in a restaurant with a seaview.
Pierre-louis from France – 13 September 2024 (8/10)
The hotel is perfectly situated. The staff is friendly and very reactive but very few speak English. We have never had better service than in Turkey, they are constantly making sure you have everything you need as quickly as possible. The rooms are small but nice. The rooms with view on the sea are gorgeous. Their restaurant is absolutely delicious and gives you an amazing view of the sea and mountains all day long.
What could be improved: The cleaning is not done well enough for me but it remains quite good. The breakfast selection is good but not great. The rooms are not soundproof.Aleksandra from Germany – 6 September 2024 (7/10)
The location is nice, the hotel is located directly on the seashore with a beach underneath. Beach towels are provided.
Rooms are clean, modern and cosy. There is a small fridge with water, coffee and a water heater.
The hotel has its own restaurant with delicious Turkish dishes. Prices are totally OK. We really enjoyed fresh-presses orange juices.
The staff is friendly and reacts immediately to questions and inquiries.
Breakfast is rich and delicious.
Pool is clean and there is a pool bar as well.
What could be improved: We actually booked a room with a view and were given exactly the suit with a view on the sea and mountains. Perfect!
But!!!! On the second day they moved us to the family room, where we could only see the street and the half of a tree. And the answer was: it happens sometimes, sorry. A lady on reception gave us a water melon as a "sedation", but it unfortunately ruined our impression.
In addition I would urgently recommend to replace wc brush, I have never seen them in such a bad condition.Zahida from United Kingdom – 25 August 2024 (9/10)
