Tuvana Hotel Overview

You know what struck me first about Tuvana Hotel? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street called Karanlık Sokak – which literally means “Dark Street” in Turkish, though don’t let that scare you off. The entrance is so understated you might walk right past it, but that’s actually part of its charm. This isn’t some flashy chain trying to impress everyone who drives by; it’s more like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of Kaleiçi’s old town.

The building itself is this gorgeous Ottoman-era mansion that’s been lovingly restored – and I mean actually restored, not gutted and turned into some sterile interpretation of “boutique.” Walking through the courtyard, you’ll hear the gentle sound of fountains mixing with the distant call to prayer from nearby mosques, which honestly creates this incredibly peaceful atmosphere despite being right in the middle of Antalya’s historic quarter. The rooms have these beautiful arched doorways and traditional Turkish carpets, but they’ve managed to add modern touches (thank god for proper air conditioning in summer) without ruining the authentic feel. I stayed there in late September, and the staff mentioned that’s actually the perfect time – you miss the intense tourist crowds of July and August, but the weather’s still gorgeous for wandering around the old town.

What really sets Tuvana apart is how it connects you to the real Kaleiçi experience. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate, and the harbor with all its restaurants and cafes is just down the hill – but you’re far enough from the main drag that you won’t be dealing with tour groups marching past your window at 7 AM. The hotel’s restaurant spills out into this lovely garden courtyard where you can actually have a conversation without shouting, something that’s surprisingly rare in this part of town. Fair warning though – parking can be tricky since the old town streets weren’t exactly designed for cars, but the hotel staff will sort you out with directions to nearby lots. The whole area comes alive in the evenings when locals come out for their evening stroll, or “passeggiata” as the Italians would say, and you’ll find yourself naturally falling into that rhythm of slow, purposeful wandering that makes Turkish coastal towns so addictive. Honestly, with an 8.3 rating, it’s one of those places that delivers exactly what it promises – authentic character, genuine hospitality, and that slightly magical feeling of staying somewhere with real history in its walls.

  We really liked the pool area, and breakfast setting. Lots of choice for breakfast. The room was spacious and really comfortable and clean. The location was excellent, walking distance to everything. They offered us 10% off at their 3 restaurants too.

  Great location, beautiful grounds and rooms. The breakfast was superb and plentiful. All staff were incredibly helpful and polite. It was a wonderful place to stay in old Antalya.

  A boutique place with history…actually a residence of Pasha…well maintained & converted into a hotel. …it’s very classy including the in-house restaurants & surroundings…

  The reception was quaintly decorated with rustic pieces and so were the galleries and the pool. The rooms are basic, so are the toilets but all very clean.
  
  Location is great and in the mid of Kaleici. Very well connected, offers wifi and great location for breakfast with a gran piano in the middle.

  Great hotel; I really enjoyed my stay. WiFi was great, and the GYM, spa, and swimming pool were flawless. The hotel and rooms are beautiful.

  Nice, comfy rooms. Accomoodating staff. Nice breakfast in a lovely patio area with vegetation all around. Beautiful swimming pool! This hotel is in a nice location, tucked away in a little side street in the old town. Just 5 mins walk from a lovely little beach where you can pay 250 lira for sunlounger for an entire day.
