The guy at reception – I think his name was Mehmet – didn’t just hand me a generic map, he actually drew little notes about which hamam in the old town is worth visiting (spoiler: skip the one near the main square, it’s overpriced) and mentioned that the best gözleme is from this woman who sets up her cart near the marina around 4 PM. The rooms are spacious in that way that makes you realize how cramped most hotel rooms actually are, and the balcony views… well, they’re not directly oceanfront, but you get these glimpses of the Mediterranean between the pine trees that somehow feel more special than staring straight at water. The air conditioning actually works properly – I know that sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places in this part of Turkey still treat AC like a luxury feature. Breakfast was this perfect mix of Turkish classics and a few international options, served on a terrace where you can hear the call to prayer from the mosque down the hill mixing with the sound of waves in the distance.

Here’s the thing about Villa Anı – it’s got that perfect 4-star sweet spot where everything works like it should without feeling overly precious about it. The location puts you close enough to Kemer’s main strip that you can walk there in about 15 minutes (though honestly, the walk back uphill after dinner and a few drinks is… well, let’s just say it’s good exercise). But you’re far enough from the chaos that you can actually sleep with the windows open and hear cicadas instead of bar music. The pool area gets great afternoon sun, and there’s usually a breeze that keeps it from feeling too hot even in July. If you’re someone who likes exploring beyond the resort bubble – hitting up local restaurants, wandering through actual Turkish neighborhoods, maybe taking that dolmuş to Olympos for the day – this place gives you a real base rather than just a place to crash between tourist activities.

  The house and swimming pool were lovely and we enjoyed our stay there. Everything was clean. The area where it is located is quiet. There are a few small supermarkets in the vicinity, 5-10 mins by car. The owner was very accommodating and recommended us a weekly fruit/vegetable market and nearby beaches.
