Villa Tulipan Overview
You know what struck me first about Villa Tulipan? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street in Kaleiçi where you’d never find it unless someone told you exactly where to look. I mean, Kaledibi Sokak is barely wide enough for a car, and honestly, you’re better off walking anyway since the whole old town is a maze of these medieval streets. The hotel itself sits in what’s clearly an old Ottoman house – I’m talking thick stone walls, original wooden shutters, the works. When you step inside, there’s this immediate coolness that hits you, which is honestly a blessing during those brutal Antalya summers. The owner (who seems to actually live on-site, which is rare these days) mentioned the building dates back a couple centuries, and you can feel it in the best possible way.
What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to keep the authentic character without making you feel like you’re roughing it. The rooms vary quite a bit – some have these incredible arched ceilings, others open onto little courtyards where you can hear the call to prayer drifting over from Yivli Minare just a few streets away. The bathrooms are modern enough, though the water pressure can be a bit temperamental (typical for old Kaleiçi, really). I stayed in one of the upper rooms and could actually see slivers of the Mediterranean between the rooftops if I craned my neck just right. The best part, though, is the rooftop terrace where they serve breakfast – you’re literally surrounded by the red tile roofs of the old quarter, with the ancient city walls visible in one direction and the harbor in the other. It’s one of those views that makes you put your phone down and just sit there for a while.
The location is honestly unbeatable if you want to feel like you’re living in historic Antalya rather than just visiting it. Hadrian’s Gate is maybe a three-minute walk, and you’re right in the heart of all those winding streets filled with carpet shops and little restaurants where locals actually eat (not just the touristy ones). The Antalya Museum is close enough to walk to, and when you want to hit the beach, Mermerli is right there below the cliffs – though fair warning, it gets absolutely packed in summer. Parking is basically impossible around here, but the hotel can arrange something if you’re driving, or honestly, just leave your car outside the old town and walk in. The whole area comes alive at night with this gentle buzz of conversation from the restaurant terraces, and you’ll fall asleep to the sound of the sea washing against the rocks below the ancient walls. It’s not for everyone – if you need a pool and room service, look elsewhere – but for that authentic Antalya experience where you feel connected to centuries of history, Villa Tulipan absolutely delivers.

Reviews of Villa Tulipan
Chandni from United States – 3 June 2025 (9/10)
We loved the stay in old town and especially at this Villa because of the incredible view and staff. Rooms are older but that’s the charm. We learned a lot about the culture from the young staff who indulged in our curiosity too. They were so accommodating and caring during our stay and little requests too.
