Casa Maria Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Casa Maria Hotel on that narrow side street in Hasimişcan, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building itself isn’t imposing or flashy, which is actually part of its charm. It’s tucked away on 1291 Sokak, and you know what? That’s exactly where you want to be in this part of Antalya. Close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t hear drunk Germans singing at 2 AM.
The thing about Casa Maria is that it doesn’t try to be everything to everyone – and that’s refreshing. There’s no official star rating because, honestly, it doesn’t fit into those cookie-cutter categories. The owner (I think her name actually is Maria, though I never asked) clearly put thought into the small details that chain hotels completely miss. The lobby has this lived-in feel with mismatched furniture that somehow works perfectly together, and there’s always Turkish tea brewing that’s way better than the instant stuff you get most places. My room had these heavy wooden shutters that blocked out the morning light completely – crucial if you’re dealing with jet lag or had one too many rakis the night before. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with water pressure that didn’t leave me standing there disappointed like so many boutique places do.
What really sold me on this place was the breakfast situation. Nothing fancy, mind you, but proper Turkish breakfast with fresh bread, local honey, and tomatoes that actually taste like tomatoes. They serve it in this little courtyard area where you can hear the neighborhood coming to life – kids heading to school, shopkeepers opening up, that sort of authentic morning rhythm you miss when you’re staying in some sterile hotel zone. The staff speaks decent English, but they’re patient if you want to practice your Turkish, which I appreciated. Location-wise, you’re maybe a 15-minute walk to the old town walls, and there’s a decent döner place two blocks over that locals actually eat at. Parking can be tricky on the street, but they’ll help you figure it out – I ended up in a little lot about three minutes away that cost almost nothing. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me because it’s not perfect (the Wi-Fi got spotty in the evenings, and you can hear your neighbors if they’re loud), but it has character and feels genuine in a way that’s getting harder to find. If you’re looking for a pool and room service, this isn’t your place. But if you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Antalya rather than just visiting it, Casa Maria gets it right.

Good value for money
Comfortable bed
Easy checkout
Kind host
What could be improved: Walls were paper thin, you could hear everything on the street, or in the other rooms.
No safe box in the room.
Make sure to ask for the check-in instructions before arrival because most of the time there’s no one at the reception.
Wifi took time to connect to our devices but worked just fine eventually.Gisele from Lebanon – 3 February 2025 (9/10)
Very cosy hotel, the rooms were so clean, the cleaning lady Rüya was so polite and lovely, the receptionist Aygun was so helpful and made us feel welcome with her beautiful smile.
The first day we arrived, the perfume in the room smelled too strong we couldn't sleep at night, the second day the problem was solved.
I highly recommend this hotel

Perfect location, room was more spacious than it looked in photos and had everything we needed. The ladies running the accommodation were so lovely and super helpful.
Cute outdoor seating area.Diane from New Zealand – 2 June 2023 (9/10)
The location was fantastic and we loved having two separate rooms as a family of four and laundry facilities. we had a car but we were able to find a car park easily.
we left our passports behind in a drawer and the staff contacted us and then arranged a taxi to bring it to where we were, so so grateful for that!
What could be improved: nothing 😃
