You know what caught me off guard about Palmera House? I was expecting another cookie-cutter Turkish hotel, but this place actually has character. It’s tucked away on this quiet side street in Kızılsaray mahallesi – honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking for the small sign. The building itself has this sort of weathered Mediterranean charm that feels authentic rather than trying too hard, if that makes sense.

The owner clearly put thought into the details here. My room had these gorgeous old wooden shutters that actually worked (you’d be surprised how often they don’t), and the bathroom tiles looked like they came from a local craftsman rather than some generic supplier. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – being on that little side street means you’re not dealing with the main road traffic, but you’re still only about a ten-minute walk to the old town area. The courtyard has this tiny pool that’s perfect for cooling off after wandering around Antalya’s heat, though I mean, don’t expect Olympic-sized swimming here. There’s something almost private about the whole setup, like you’re staying at a friend’s well-designed house rather than a commercial hotel.

Here’s the thing though – and this is important – you really need to be comfortable with a more intimate hotel experience. There’s no big lobby with marble floors or 24-hour room service. Check-in is personal, almost conversational, and the staff genuinely seems to remember your name (which honestly was refreshing after staying at some of those massive resort chains). The breakfast is simple but uses local ingredients, and they actually asked about dietary restrictions without me having to bring it up. Parking can be a bit tricky since the street is narrow, but there’s usually space if you’re not arriving during peak season. I’d say if you’re the type who needs a gym, multiple restaurants, or a concierge desk, this isn’t your place. But if you want somewhere that feels authentically Turkish without sacrificing comfort, and you appreciate when small details are done right, Palmera House delivers on that promise. Plus, the location puts you close enough to explore the historic center without being in the middle of all the tourist chaos.

  The hotel was clean good location near to all facilities shops and the taxis. The two staff receptionists on the front desk were nice and helpful. The room size good and comfortable with a microwave, fridge and TV which I didn't get to watch as was in Turkish language.

  What could be improved: The only negative I didn't like was when some guests ignored the 'Do not smoke sign' and were smoking cigarettes the strong smell came into my room, also if other guests were speaking loud I could hear them as the walls are thin.

  The facilities are new and clean. The hotel is near a tram station and the transportation is convenient.
  
  What could be improved: 1. The check-in staff is unfriendly and somewhat impatient.
  2. The soundproofing in the hotel rooms is almost zero. You can always hear clearly what people talk on the corridor or from the next room. I was woke up every morning in 4-5 am. I cannot understand how people could rest well in this unbearable circumstance.
  3. You have to lock the door from inside with a metal key, because the door is easily opened. Even when we fetched things in the room for just few minutes without locking the door, it was opened several times, which was really annoying.

  The location is great, 1 minute from the tram station, closer to MarkAntayla.
  Very clean and specious, it's like a studio flat.
  Staff is friendly and available all day.
  Bathroom also clean.
